shaded 2” thick. Signs must be stenciled or professionally designed with above standards.

2. In order to keep the spirit of the late Dr. King, we are prohibiting the use of loud, profane, vulgar,
or explicit music and dancing.
3. All Parade participants must report to the line-up area no later than 8:00 A.M. Have your
transportation vehicles dropped off at the line-up area by 7:30 A.M. Once buses drop off on
Congress Avenue and Blue Heron Blvd, all buses should be parked on Blue Heron Blvd. in the
center median from Avenue “F” to Avenue “H” East. Bus drivers should to be at their buses
awaiting pick-up.
4. The parade will start PROMPTLY at 10:00 A.M. Parade participants will line up on Congress
Avenue and Blue Heron Blvd. and the parade will end on Avenue H East.
5. No items (candy, t-shirts, etc.) are to be thrown to spectators along the parade route.
Spectators have a will to dart in the path of moving vehicles. Children have the tendency to
dart in the street to retrieve items directly from the parade participants. This creates
hazardous conditions for the children as well as undue delays.
6. The viewing stand is located at the Municipal Complex, 600 West Blue Heron Blvd., on the
north side of Blue Heron Blvd.
7. Assigned Parade Line-up numbers will be issued on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.
during a MANDATORY pre-parade meeting at the Port Center Building, 2051 Martin Luther
King, Jr. Blvd, Room 113, Riviera Beach. It is mandatory that one (1) representative from each
organization is in attendance. Dignitaries, public safety agencies, masonic lodges, scouts,
parade honorees are excluded from this meeting and may pick-up their parade designation
number/alphabet on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Human
Resources Department, 2051 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Room 302, Riviera Beach, FL 33404.
There will be no numbers issued on the day of the Parade, Saturday, January 14, 2017 and by

non-refundable.

groups are to perform no more than two (2) minutes in front of the viewing stand. A two (2)
minute time limit will be strictly enforced.
10. PUBLIC SAFETY VEHICLES – Use Silver Beach Road to enter onto Congress Avenue to lessen
larger vehicles from having to turn around to head southeast onto the parade route.
11. SCHOOL BANDS line up in center of Blue Heron Blvd. at Congress Avenue. STOPPING AT
IMPERIAL SHOPPING PLAZA IS PROHIBITED. Bands are permitted to stop and perform only at
the viewing stand located at the Municipal Complex. When the parade comes to a halt, other

(2) minutes in front of the viewing stand. A two (2) minute time limit will be strictly enforced.
12. Please follow instructions of parade staff monitors assigned to your group throughout the
