Directions for Gridding your Photo
1. Make sure you start with the zero of the ruler at the
corner of the image.
2. Do Not eyeball your grid lines! Use a Ruler!
3. Make a mark or “v” every half inch all the way around
the photo. All 4 sides should have half inch marks. That
way you will have 2 marks to connect to get straight
lines.
4. Do Not Erase on your Photo!
Directions for Gridding your Paper
1. This paper is 9 x 12 inches. You will have to Measure
out a 8 x 12 inch section.
2. Because 8 x 12 inches is 2 x as large as 4 x 6, your grid
will have to be 1 inch squares.
3. Always draw your grid lines on your project paper as
lightly as possible!
4. Do Not eyeball your grid lines! Use a Ruler!
5. Make a mark or “v” every inch all the way around the
paper. All 4 sides should have inch marks. That way
you will have 2 marks to connect to get straight lines.
Your Project Paper
You Should make sure
you mark every 1 inch
all the way around
your paper with a 4H

are very light gray
pencils.
If you do not have marks on all 4 sides,
what will happen?
