Recommended Reading List for 3 rd Class

Recommended Reading List for 3rd Class
The following books come highly recommended for 3rd Class students to read and enjoy during
the summer holidays and on into the academic year. Remember your local library is well
stocked with children's literature and it is possible to order a specific book if it is not on the
shelf. A word on series books, the good thing about books in a series is that they keep children
reading. Do not worry if your child is only reading one kind of book but rest assured, once she
catches the reading bug, she will move on to other books.
•
The Sophie Stories by Dick King-Smith
•
Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren
•
Mr. Gum and the Biscuit Billionaire
•
The Secret Seven Series by Enid Blyton
The children will be timetabled to come to the library for Book Club each week. This involves
them listening , enjoying, absorbing and understanding a book.
I aim to help the students get the most out of their reading.
