Suggested Outline for History Paper (larger font, bold, center, important words capitalized)
Mrs. Daum (slightly smaller font, bold, centered, first and last names)
Introduction paragraph (3+ sentences, give us a “hook” such as paint a picture, interesting fact
etc. and then give a brief overview of what you are focusing on, notice the indented paragraph, font
size 12, and double space)
Second paragraph: topic sentence and 5+ detail sentences
Third paragraph: topic sentence and 5+ detail sentences
Fourth paragraph: topic sentence and 5+ detail sentences
Conclusion paragraph (3+ sentences, ends with a transition word such as therefore or in
conclusion followed by a comma, and restates your main focus of the paper, then share a personal
reaction to what you have found out—what amazed or surprised you, how do you feel about it, etc.)
Your typed paper should include at least 20+ facts and it should be about a 1- 1 ½ pages long. It
should have approximately 1 inch margins.
