MUSIC INDUSTRY STUDIES CELEBRATE A SUCCESSFUL YEAR
Los Angeles, CA, April 30th, 2017: On Monday, May 8th, the team at Five of Five Music
Entertainment (VVME) will come together to host the annual Music Industry Studies
Year-End Celebration! Celebrating the past year’s achievements, this event brings the
VVME staff together with fellow Music Industry Studies colleagues, alumni, faculty, and
various music industry professionals, to network and further develop professional
relationships. Through dedication, hard work, and perseverance, the VVME team worked
to build the foundation of a lasting career for their “Artist-of-the-Year”, Smoky Knights.
At this event, Smoky Knights will be performing songs from their new EP, Sooner or
Later.
After choosing Smoky Knights as the Artist-of-the-Year, VVME produced their new EP,
Sooner or Later, and released it on digital retail and streaming services such as iTunes
and Spotify. Additionally, VVME facilitated and organized a radio interview on KCSN
88.5 FM, as well as airplay for the title track, “Sooner or Later”. Other achievements
made by VVME include: the production of multiple music videos, remodeling of the
band’s website, establishment of music publishing companies for the band members, and
production of new merchandise items. Furthermore, the VVME staff booked numerous
shows for the band in Southern and Central California, including an EP release show for
Sooner or Later at El Cid in Silverlake, CA.
The Music Industry Year-End Celebration will be held at the Odyssey Restaurant in
Granada Hills on Monday, May 8th. The event will begin with a cocktail hour at 6:00
p.m. followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available for $25 and must be purchased
online at Eventbrite.com (search “CSUN Music”).
Five of Five Music Entertainment is a student run faculty advised record label operating
through the Music Industry Studies program at California State University, Northridge.
