Navarathri Festival
The Navarathri (nine nights) one of the greatest Hindu
festivals was celebrated on 13th October 2015 in the School
Hall. Students presented songs, dances and plays which
inspired a great religious ferver and entertainment.
Maathra 8 Concert
Maathra 8 concert presented by the Kandyan
Dancing students of Lyceum Group of International Schools
was held on 10th October 2015 at B.M.I.C.H. The Founder
of Lyceum International Schools Mr. Mohan Lal Grero was
the Chief Guest.
A big thank you to all Kandyan Dancing students and Staff
for all the effort put into make Maathra 8 a success.

Message from our
Founder
Mr. Mohan Lal Grero
The story is told of a boy who
was dying of cancer and needed
urgent treatment. But the cost of
the treatment was way beyond the means of the boy's
family. News of this boy's condition quickly spread around
the school he attended and a fund - raiser was launched to
help out the family.
What ensued was nothing short of a miracle.
Little children donated their piggy banks towards the fund.
Some sacrificed their lunch money. Parents of fellow
students made collections in their offices. News travelled
overseas and past pupils chipped in. In less than a month,
over five million rupees was collected.
This is not a story that took place in some wealthy
western country. It took place right here in Sri Lanka. It
goes to prove that true wealth is not measured by a
country's GDP or a person's income, but by the goodness
of one's heart.
When the opportunity presents itself for you to do
something good, don't just do something, do your best.

8th Asian Swimming Championship
2015, Thailand
Thimali Bandara, L.A. Lahiru, Rakitha De Silva, Diluk
Jayathilake and Deekshi Gunasekara swimmers of Lyceum Wattala were
selected to represent Sri Lanka at the 8th Asian Age Group
Championship 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand organized by Asian
Swimming Federation from 1st to 7th October 2015.
The highest number of swimmers were selected from Lyceum
Wattala for the above Championship.
All Island Inter School Scrabble Tournament 2015
The above tournament was organized by the Sri Lanka Scrabble
League (SLSL).In the under 20 School Scrabbler of the year
Tournament (individual) Thavalakshman Yoganathan became the
Champion. Janidu Karunaratne and Migara Jayasinghe were placed
4th and 6th respectively. This was held on 10th October 2015 at
HSBC-Town hall.
In the under 20 Inter-school Scrabble Tournament (team) which was
held on 3rd October 2015 at Royal College, Colombo 7,the team
from Lyceum International School – Wattala, comprising of Migara
Jayasinghe (Captain), Janidu Karunaratne (Vice-Captain),
Thavalakshman
Yoganathan,
Nusrath
Sariffo’deen
and
Lambhotharan Yoganathan emerged 2nd Runners up in the 'A'
division.
The Chief Guest was Mr. Kandan Mahendran, President of the Sri
