Day 2: Chicago
Day at your leisure to explore the city. We suggest visiting Sears Tower, the tallest building in North America. The 360 Chicago
Observation Deck offers a breathtaking view of the city and plays host to a variety of exhibitions. Stroll along the shores of
Lake Michigan or explore Chicago's museums. Spend a laidback afternoon in Millennium Park and at night don't miss Joe's
BeBop Café & Jazz Emporium, considered one of the best jazz clubs in the city. Overnight stay.
Day 3: Chicago St. Loius
In the morning, depart for the legendary Route 66, the most emblematic American highway, from Chicago to St. Louis.
Discover landmarks from yesteryear, such as food villages, drivein theatres, traditional filling stations (19201960) and drive
through restaurants. This is the very best of this American route. Overnight stay.
Day 4: St. Louis Springfield
Continue through the picturesque countryside of Missouri until you reach the city of Springfield, recognised as the origin of
Route 66 in 1926 and also famous for being the birthplace of Mark Twain. We recommend a stop at the caves of Meramec,
near Stanton, notorious for having been used as a hiding place by Jesse James after some of his misdeeds. Overnight stay.
Day 5: Springfield Catoosa Tulsa Oklahoma City
Cross southeastern Kansas before entering Oklahoma's undulating pastures. Make sure you take a photo of the Blue Whale in
Catoosa, one of the most important icons of the historic Route 66. Then head to Tulsa, where we recommend a visit to the
Gilcrease Museum, which houses the most comprehensive collection of art and artefacts of the American West. Overnight
stay.
