Australian Military Sales Equipment Catalogue | January – June 2017
Introduction
The Australian Defence Force (ADF) upgrades and replaces its equipment progressively and routinely disposes of surplus equipment.
The Australian Military Sales Office (AMSO) is responsible for managing the sale and exporting of surplus ADF equipment inventory to
approved foreign government customers under Government-to-Government arrangements.
Note: Inclusion of items in this catalogue does not constitute or guarantee availability to any or all parties. The approval for the sale of
military equipment from Australia is undertaken via a process independent from AMSO to ensure appropriate governance.
Australian Military Sales Equipment Catalogue
The Australian Military Sales Equipment (AMSE) Catalogue provides information on ADF surplus equipment for sale across the
maritime, land and aerospace domains to foreign government customers. Advice on other surplus ADF equipment and inventory not
catalogued may be obtained by contacting the AMSO at [email protected]
The AMSO offerings are presented in four broad groupings, being:
• Available now – material and capability systems in the disposals process.
• Expression of Interest – materiel and capability systems still in service with the ADF, but which may be subject to intensive management if
interest is expressed.
• Allied technology – Australian defence industry solutions, for which AMSO will act as the broker for Government-to-Government sales.
• Other capability.
Equipment information sheets identifying the type, quantity, origin and availability of equipment including any export controls are
enclosed. Although not catalogued, equipment spares and support and test equipment will be available for sale as part of any major
item sale or can be sold separately.
It is important to note that availability dates are a guide and may be subject to change. Some equipment will be subject Country of
Origin Foreign Government export approvals, for instance, United States International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and require

The Aerospace & Mechanical Consulting Engineers (AMCE) Observer platform
assembly and ventilation system, in conjunction with the C-130 Hercules cupola
installation, enhances the comfort and safety of the Observer and increases their
effectiveness in conducting Observer duties.
The AMCE Observer platform assembly and ventilation system is a commercialoff-the-shelf system with a standard delivery lead time of 24 weeks.
The Observer platform assembly is role equipment which provides secure
footing and unrestricted range of movement within the cupola, increasing the
safety of the Observer in carrying out their functions. The platform is adjustable
without tooling, enabling the Observer to set a desirable platform height for
maximum comfort.
The ventilation system interfaces with the cupola to demist the cupola effectively
and to provide a controlled, conditioned air supply for the Observer. This acts
to minimise the Observer’s susceptibility to airsickness or heat exhaustion,
maximising comfort.
AMCE’s platform assembly and ventilation system is certified to both Federal
Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 25 and the aircraft certification baseline. The
system has been in-service with the RAAF C-130H until aircraft retirement and
has proven to be very effective in enhancing the comfort, safety and functionality
of the Observer, as attested by the operational unit.

The AMCE negator spring upgrade reduces Loadmaster back injury incidents,
by significantly reducing the physical effort involved in opening the paratroop
door. The system provides greater mechanical lift by incorporating a spring
with increased stiffness. This simplifies paratroop door operations and enables
one-man door operations (instead of the standard two man operations). Three
variants are available, including: standard lift assist, 50 per cent additional lift
assist and double lift assist.
The AMCE negator spring upgrade is a commercial-off-the-shelf system with a
standard delivery lead time of 16 weeks.
Incorporation of the negator spring upgrade does not involve permanent
modifications to the aircraft. The negator spring upgrade is certified to both FAR
Part 25 and the aircraft certification baseline.
In service with the RAAF C-130J aircraft since 2012, it is highly praised as a
significant improvement in workplace safety, paratroop door operations and
maintenance practice.

The AMCE designed C-130 underfloor armour system installs armour panels
underneath the cargo floor to provide crew protection against small arms fire,
whilst ensuring that crew operations are unimpeded. The armour system is
low weight, low maintenance, and effectively maintains full functionality of the
cargo area. It is easy to install and remove with no need for special tooling or
hangar facilities. Additionally, system installation does not involve any permanent
modifications to the aircraft. The armour panels are attached to aircraft structure
using brackets mounted at existing fastener locations. Once fitted, they may
remain fitted for any length of time without additional inspections, unless
damaged by small arms fire.
The AMCE ballistic protection is a commercial-off-the-shelf system with a
standard delivery lead time of 26 weeks.
AMCE provides a commercial-off-the-shelf C-130J ballistic protection solution
which meets National Institute of Justice (NIJ) Standard 0108.01 Type IV, FAR
Part 25 and the aircraft certification baseline. The system may be tailored to
meet customer requirements if desired.
The AMCE ballistic protection solution has been in service with the RAAF
