Eagle Hill Southport School Summer Programs June 26– July 28, 2017 Two-week & five-week skill-building & learning strategies programs for students entering grades K–9 It’s well known that children can lose considerable momentum when they’re away from school during the summer months. Many need ongoing assistance and remediation to maintain their progress. Eagle Hill Southport School is here to help. In our summer programs, students entering grades K–9 are immersed in integrated programs that are hands-on, dynamic, and fun. Hands-on. Dynamic. Fun. Five-week Programs Monday to Friday • No classes held on July 4 All five-week programs include diagnostic testing, a parent-teacher conference, and a “back to school” night where parents can hear from the teachers and follow their child’s schedule. Skills Sharpener Get a Jump on Middle School Skills Based Program for Students Entering Grades 1–5 Learning Strategies Program for Students Entering Grades 5–6 June 26–July 28 • 8 AM–12:15 PM • $3,200 June 26–July 28 • 8 AM–12:15 PM • $3,200 In this non-graded academic program, students are grouped by ability and age into small classes that focus on their most pressing educational needs. Lessons combine hands-on activities, such as crafts and games, with technology and traditional paper-and-pencil work. It’s fast-paced and fun. This program prepares students to meet the ever-growing demands of middle school—more independent work, multiple teachers, time management, organization, etc. Structured, success-oriented classes reinforce students’ existing skills while simultaneously helping them to develop strategies and habits to maximize learning. Expert Teaching Staff Our summer faculty is composed of Eagle Hill Southport School teachers (whose average teaching tenure is 12 years) and guest teachers trained by the school in methodologies such as the Orton-Gillingham Approach and Lindamood-Bell’s Visualizing & Verbalizing®. This ensures summer program students receive the best evidence-based remediation possible.
