Welcome
Kaya is the Academy's online learning platform for the
humanitarian sector. Here you can find online learning and
in-person workshops that will help you learn what you need to
take you where you want to go.
Kaya is designed to be accessed from phones, tablets,
laptops and PCs, so you can use it whenever and wherever
you want. Kaya currently works in English, French and Arabic,
though we also have content in additional languages – you
can see which ones when you search for courses.

How to create an account
You can sign-up for Kaya (known
as ‘self-registration’) by selecting
Register at the top of the page, or
from the menu if you are using a
mobile.
You will need to complete the fields with an asterisk; at least one
of Display name, First name or Family name must be completed.
You can edit your names later by clicking on your name at the
top of the screen and going to ‘edit profile’.
NB: Certificates print your First and Family names, so you will need
to make sure these are given on your profile if you wish to
download certificates of completion.
Passwords must contain at least 8 characters, including at least
one number, one lower case letter and one upper case letter.
The Academy Centre you select will affect the types of
learning you are offered and the announcements you will
be sent. If you do not want to choose a Centre, if there is
no Centre near you, or if you are not sure, you can select
'None/Global'.
Once you have completed all the fields you should select
Create my new account at the bottom of the page.
Confirming accounts
When your account is created, you are automatically
sent an email with a link you must click. The link will
confirm your account.
If you do not receive the confirmation email, please
check your junk mail.

Changing language
At the top of every page are links to
change the language.
When you select your chosen language
the text will change.
The language of the course summaries
and documents will not change.

Searching
You can search for courses by selecting Search in the top
left of the page.
You can use the list of topics to browse for courses. You
can clear your search results by selecting Clear Filters X.
To search by keyword, use the search box. Kaya will
suggest courses based on the words you enter. You do
not have to chose one of these courses – if the
suggestions are not what you are looking for just click on
the
icon.
You can remove a word from the search by selecting the X.
