Junior Team Code Of Conduct
If you want to be a part of the Texas Junior Racquetball Team, please read the following information along with
your parents and both sign the document.
Parent/Coach Sportsmanship Standards
1. Remember that you are at a contest to support your son/daughter and to enjoy the skill and competition;
not to intimidate or ridicule the other player(s), fans or the referee.
2. Show respect for the opposing players, coaches, spectators and support groups. Treat them as you would
want your child to be treated.
3. Respect the integrity and judgment of game’s referee. They are not perfect human beings, and bad calls are
a part of the game at all levels of any competition.
4. Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, fans and
referees at games and practices.
5. Encourage your child to play by the rules and respect the rights of other players, coaches, fans and
referees.
Player Sportsmanship Standards
1. Begin and end each match by showing a sign of respect for your opponent, such as shaking hands. Good
sportsmanship is a lifelong skill – in victory and defeat.
2. Treat opponents the way you would like to be treated.
3. Respect the integrity and judgment of the referee. Bad calls are a part of many games, no matter what level
of competition. Play through calls, both bad and good, and go on with the game!
4. Demonstrate good sportsmanship before, during and after games. Good sportsmanship means supporting
yourself and teammates when things do not go as planned or hoped for.
5. Refrain from obscene language and inappropriate actions, even when an opposing player is in the wrong.
6. End every match, regardless if you win or lose, by thanking the referee for volunteering their time to
officiate your match.
