Introduction
Introduction
This document describes how to configure a Pi Sigma System for use with VIDS2 units. In
order to perform the setup, you must have the necessary code, which is supplied by Pi on
request. The code is distributed as a .zip file and can be obtained by sending an email with
*Vids2* in the title to [email protected].
Save this .zip file to a temporary location on your computer and extract the contents
before performing the configuration steps described below. In addition, you must ensure
that:

Pi Toolbox 4.4 or above is installed
■
Pi Workshop 7.6.38 or above is installed
■
Pi Server is running and connected to a car
Setting up an Elite

Select All Programs | Pi Research | Pi Tools | Pi Sigma Ethernet Code Loader
from the Windows Start menu.
The Ethernet Code Loader application is launched. You use this application to send 4
code files to your Pi Sigma Elite.
Note: You must ensure that you press Send File after selecting each code file.

Type 2 in the Node field and select CODE from the Selection drop-down
menu.

Press the ... button associated with the File field and browse to the location of
the extracted .zip file. Locate and open the file Elite\8240-logger-091105.bin.
The Ethernet Code Loader should now look like this:

Press Send File.

Select OS from the Selection drop-down menu.

Press the ... button associated with the File field and browse to the location of
the extracted .zip file. Locate and open the file Elite\8240-os.bin.
The Ethernet Code Loader should now look like this:

Type 10 in the Node field and select CODE from the Selection drop-down
menu.

Open the Pi Server window.

Select the System tab.

Ensure that Synch Setup before Send is checked.

Press Send.
Note: The Send button is enabled only if Pi Server is connected to a car.
