Every week you are to choose one of the following homework tasks to complete. You should always try your best and present your work to the highest standards. You will be given vivos for
completing these tasks and be put into a weekly draw for Independent Learner of the week.
Create a ten song
playlist of Gothic
themed music. Write a
paragraph to explain
your choices.
Create your own character for a Gothic horror
story. Illustrate your
character and label it to
show how he or she
suits the Gothic genre.
Plan out a Gothic horror
film- include a timeline
of the plot, characters,
soundtrack, setting and
maybe an extract of the
script.
Research a Gothic writer – include details about their life,
the writing that they produced
and any pictures to accompany
your ideas.
Create a restaurant
menu with a gothic
theme. Include starters,
main courses and deserts. Present it imaginatively.
Write a Gothic poem, using your knowledge of
gothic settings and the
techniques usually used.
Draw and label the characters of Dr Jekyll and
Mr Hyde. How can you
show that they are the
same person? Use
quotes from the novella.
Create a quiz about the characters of Dr Jekyll and Mr
Hyde to test the knowledge of
your peers. Make sure that
you know the answers.
Write examples of
SLAMDAZSTOP for the
horror genre. Add illustrations.
Write a newspaper article about the ‘Carew
Murder Case’, from the
novella: The Strange
Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr
Hyde.
Write a five entry diary
from the perspective of
a boy or girl who has recently turned into a
vampire.
Write a review of a horror film.
Make sure that it is only a
maximum 12 certificate. I.e.
‘Woman in Black’.
