Welcome Friends. . .
This fall, while other areas of the
Northeast were prepared for the worst and
battened down the hatches, the people of
Vermont were able to demonstrate their
resiliency and strength as Mother Nature
and Hurricane Irene challenged our small
towns, changed our rivers and landscapes,
and caused some major headaches. For
those of us who call Vermont home, we
were grateful that all our friends and family
are safe and well. Each town experienced
flooding, damage, or both. Thankfully, we
have been able to make sure that our state
is prepared for the winter months and all of
our friends are able to visit our great state
this winter. Just a few weeks ago, we were
already given a glimpse of what will soon
be our winter with our trees, mountains
and landscapes will be blanketed in the
beautiful whites and silvers of the
snow .Winter brings about a new
flurry of activity in the
mountains—skiing,
snowshoeing, snowmobiling,
skating and so much more
that puts us in awe of the natural beauty
that surround us everyday.
Many of our guests enjoy the
central location of the Swiss Inn to Bromley,
Stratton, Magic and Okemo Mountains, as
well as the trails for cross country skiing,
snowshoeing and snowmobiling. We
encourage our guests to view the
spectacular packages for skiing that we offer
on Page 3 of this brochure. All of the skiing
locations in Southern Vermont offer state of
the art snowmaking, so no matter what
Mother Nature has in store, the ski
conditions are always superb.
For those who are not skiers, or if
you prefer to skip a day at the mountains,
visit some of the great shopping
opportunities that we can offer. From the
country and village shops to the designer
outlets in Manchester, there is something
for everyone. Antique shops, art galleries,
and museums are also available for a little
culture. For something different, consider
snow tubing, a sleigh ride or one of the
special events offered at the mountains or
around town. We also have some
spectacular spas, indoor recreation activities,
tours, and much, much more. Call the Inn
for ideas how to round out your vacation.
After a day having some great fun
in the Green Mountains, join us for two
different dining options. You can enjoy our
26-entrée menu with specialties in
Germany/Swiss cuisine, including traditional
après-ski meals like beef, chicken, pizza,
Swiss Cheese and chocolate fondues.
Consider adding a dining package to your
stay so that you are able to enjoy all of our
amenities. Or for something lighter, the
Swiss Inn is offering guests access to lighter
fare with our tavern menu, offered daily at
4:00 p.m. Guests will be able to enjoy
sandwiches, salads, and other items. Don’t
forget
that each morning the Inn
provides you with the
opportunity to start your day
off on the right foot by
offering a full sit down
breakfast from 7:30—9:00 am.
Please viisit
www.swissinn.com to view everything from
menus to lodging specials to room
availability. To get in touch with any of the
Donahue family, please email
[email protected].
The Donahues are doing well and
preparing for the winter season. Bree and
Brynne, ages 8 and 7, are enjoying school.
Bree is excited about her second year of
swim team, and Brynne can’t wait to go
snowshoeing with her grandfather. Bridget
& Brent are enjoying keeping up with the
girls and you may see them around the Inn
throughout the fall and winter. . Brendan,
Ryan and Joe were able to enjoy
Oktoberfest this past fall as well as some
Eagles games together.
The Swiss Inn staff is committed to
making our guests’ experiences enjoyable.
We look forward to seeing familiar faces as
well as any new guests that would like to
make the Swiss Inn their Vermont home. .
