Important update on reporting of graffiti for Western Power
Western Power is currently changing the process for the reporting of graffiti on our equipment. This
is a result of a process review for the ongoing management of graffiti affecting our assets and we will
continue to consult with the relevant stakeholder groups including those on the Graffiti Taskforce as
that process evolves.
In the meantime, we would like to advise you of a change to our graffiti reporting arrangement;


If you notice any offensive graffiti, or would like to report via the phone, please call 1800 662
008 (24 hours); or
Use the form on the Western Power website (www.westerpower.com.au) under “Report an
issue”.
Note: Members of the public can also report graffiti using the same process.
To speed up the identification process, it is important that you are able to provide the Western Power
Asset ID (a six figure number attached to the asset; e.g. 336082. These are located so they are clearly
visible and should be readily identifiable with our logo or name.
Should an asset ID not be available, or the graffiti is located on an external fence or wall of a substation, address details will be required for the Customer Service Centre staff to locate the asset; e.g.
closest street address (property) and closest intersecting street.
We will commence work immediately in consultation with Local Government stakeholders for the
management of ‘routine’ graffiti and contact will be made over the next few days. Any Local
Government’s that want to participate in that process can make contact with Peter Slee (details
below). Key principles will include;
 simple and efficient process,
 meet the principles of Premier’s Circular 2011/03, and;
 be consistent with and standardised across all Local Governments
Should you have any question’s regarding the above, please contact Peter Slee on 0429 233 226 or by
emailing [email protected]
Thank you for your patience in assisting this business reform process.
