How to switch on
Press and hold the button. While holding the
button you will observe all the display indicators
lighting up for you to have visual control of their
operation. Also this process includes device
self-test and setting of reference pressure.
After that the display shows ‘0’ (or your pre-set
elevation). Here release the button – the
altimeter is ready for a jump.
How to switch off
An altimeter may be switched off only in ‘on
ground’ mode. After the device is switched it
turns off automatically after 14 hours (if it is in
‘on ground’ mode).
In order to switch the device off manually press
and hold the button to browse through the
menu. When the “OFF” option appears, release
the button. Here the accidental shutdown
sequence begins: like in an AAD you will see
digits ‘3333’, ‘2222’, ‘1111’ – shortly press the
button each time you see the digits.
Parachuting is a hazardous activity that can result in injury or death. An altimeter is a mechanical device and may
malfunction, even when properly designed, built, assembled, maintained and used. Do not rely upon an altimeter for your
safety. Your altimeter must only be considered as an aid when checking your altitude. The needle can stick during both
ascent and descent – a visual cross reference with the ground should be used in combination with the altimeter.

Or
Open Finder.
Open catalog /Applications/Utilities and launch Terminal
Write following commands:

Work modes of altimeter
«On ground»
In the ‘on ground’ stand-by mode the altimeter displays ‘0’ (or current
elevation of grounding area) and automatically calibrates for zero
pressure waiting for take-off. After 5 minutes in this mode the display
switches off for energy economy (at take-off it turns on automatically).
Take-off is registered when average speed of climb in 8 seconds exceeds
2m/sec. At this the altimeter takes for zero the value of pressure which
was recorded 30 seconds before – when the device was certainly on
ground.
«Climb»
In climb mode the altitude is updated by 5m. Menu does not offer ‘log’,
‘OFF’ and ‘SET0’ options anymore, the device can be switched off only in
‘on ground’ mode. The altimeter goes to ‘on ground’ mode upon following
conditions:
- Altitude is less than 200m
- Average speed of descent 0 m/sec during a minute.
During long flight at the same altitude over 200m the device does not
reset to zero.
«Freefall »
During free fall altitude is updated by 50m for easy altitude read. In this
mode the button is not active and produces no effect.
«Parachuting»
After the canopy is deployed the altitude is updated by 5m. In this mode
the button is not active and produces no effect.
