To be eligible for the award of Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Arts (LLB/BA), a student must acquire 490 credit points as
prescribed below:
gain a maximum of 90 credit points for the prescribed first year courses which includes:
50 credit points for Law courses and
40 credit points for Humanities-approved courses including:
10 credit points minimum of first year foundation courses from within the chosen major
it is a general requirement that students must have successfully completed all courses in the first year before proceeding to
second year courses
gain a total of 400 credit points for second, third, fourth, and fifth year courses which includes:
280 credit points for Law courses comprising:
190 credit points for the compulsory law courses (except where the University has replaced core courses with elective
courses) and
90 credit points for Law elective courses including:
10 credit points for an international/comparative law elective
120 credit points for Humanities-approved courses comprising:
60 credit points for a Humanities major from the second and third year courses within the major and
60 credit points for Humanities-approved electives from second and third year year.

a specified standard receive the meritorious Honours award of Bachelor of Laws (Honours);

Laws/Bachelor of Arts (1486) program and upon successfully completing the requirements of the program (and achieve a
