chance for your voice to be heard. Doors will not open until 9:00am. RESERVATIONS

MARK YOUR CALENDAR & MAKE YOUR RESERVATION
EMV - New Functionality You Can Expect - Coming in January

Checkout is simple at chip-enabled terminals and is similar to the process cardholders
experience today.

At the chip-enabled reader, you will be instructed to insert your card into the slot at
the front of the reader. Leave your card in the reader and enter your PIN or sign as
needed. Simply follow the prompts on the screen until your transaction is completed. Just
remember to take your card.

You can still swipe to pay at merchants that are not yet chip-enabled.
What Remains the Same


You can still use your new chip card at an ATM as you would today.

You will still need to sign the back of your card for security purposes.
If a merchant still has the traditional card reader, your new card will still have a
magnetic stripe on the back and you can swipe your card as you would today.
Shred or cut up expired or reissued cards.
When Will You Receive Your New Visa and/or Debit Chipenabled Card? We will offer the added security of EMV chip-enable technology to all
of our Visa and Debit cards before the end of the year. Most all financial institutions are
switching to the EMV card all at the same time and, therefore, we are set up on a project
queue with our card processor. We really appreciate your patience during this time to get
the new chip cards in your hands, but know that our current cards are still safe and secure.
Current Cardholders Automatically Receive the New Chip Cards
If you currently have a Visa with us, you do not have to apply for a chip card. You
will automatically receive a chip-enabled card to replace your current cards. Our
goal is to have the cards issued as soon as possible. The first phase was sent in
December. The second phase is due to be sent out beginning January
5th.
Look for your new card in the mail…along with the
gold chip!

Quarterly Tip
Dormant Account Policy
Accounts shall be considered dormant if no activity has taken place on the account for six months.
Members are reminded to keep their account active by making a deposit, withdrawal, or transfer to their
account. If you do not activate your account, you may incur a monthly dormant account fee. Any
account that is dormant after three years, the balance in the account will automatically be escheated to the
State of Indiana. Fees on all dormant accounts shall be assessed at $5.00 per month after 6 months of
inactivity. The fee shall continue monthly until the balance in the account is zero and the account is closed,
or the account has been reactivated. If after three years there is still a balance, the
monies remaining will be escheated to the state. Exceptions are if the member has a
balance of $100 or more, other accounts with the credit union i.e. IRA’s,
Certificates of Deposit, Loans, Visa card, Mortgage etc.; or if the member is under
18 years of age. The Credit Union will make the necessary attempts to contact
members with dormant accounts before any funds are escheated to the state. This
makes it essential that addresses on all accounts be current and up to date. Please
call the Credit Union should you have any questions regarding this policy.
