Fashion Show Project Guidelines

Avancemos 1 – U4L1 – Desfile de Moda
Goals





I can talk about clothes I want to buy.
I can say what I wear in different seasons.
I can tell how I feel using expressions with “tener.”
I can tell that I think, prefer, understand, want, and begin using stemchanging verbs.
I can work together with a group to equally create a fashion show
You will be completing this project in groups of 3-4 people.
Part 1: Book - Create a book (paper or electronic) with your group that illustrates the outfits from your
group.
Step 1 – Decide what outfit you will wear. Write a rough draft of your own outfit. You will write your
description in the 3rd person. Make sure to include the following:
- What is the model like? Describe looks and personality (2 sentences)
- What the model is wearing; describe AT LEAST 5 items. (at least 4 sentences)
o Describe the clothing (colors, brand, where it is from)
- What season or weather this would be appropriate for (1 sentence)
- How much the clothes cost (1 sentence)
- Use at least two stem changing verbs and at least 2 DOPNs
Step 2 – Have all your sentences peer edited by at least 3 people not in the group. Each person will need
to sign, as well as provide constructive feedback.
Step 3 – Show rough draft to Señora Michaelson on February 17th for 10 points. All sentences must be
complete for full credit.
Step 4 – Neatly write or type edited descriptions and create a book with colored illustrations.
Part 2: Fashion Show
- You will be creating a “desfile de moda” (fashion show) in groups of 3-4 and presenting them to the
class in a runway show. You will use the description from above. Each person will take turns being both
the fashion announcer, as well as a model in the show. You should bring in actual clothes for the models
on the day(s) of the presentation. You will also choose an appropriate background song in Spanish for
your group.
- Your fashion show outfit will be based on the description that you wrote for the booklet.
-Decide who will read for each other. Each person must walk the runway and each person must read the
description of another’s outfit. You will be graded on pronunciation, so practice in advance. The
announcers may only use a notecard to glance at occasionally. You should be speaking from memory –
not reading off the card.
Avancemos 1 – U4L1 – Desfile de Moda
- Be sure to follow these expectations:
- DO NOT use a translator; use of a translator will result in a 0.
- Use complete sentences
- Everything is in Spanish
- Use vocab and grammar that we have learned, specifically from U4L1
-You must have your clothes and accessories on that day of the fashion show. If you do not have
your clothes on the day of the fashion show you will be deducted 10%.
**All group members need to equally contribute to the project, as this is a group grade. Some time will be
given to work on it during class, but there will be work that will need to be completed outside of class
time.
