EMPOWERING SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURS FOR INNOVATION, INCLUSIVE GROWTH AND JOBS SPEAKER: ADINDA SINNAEVE CURRICULUM VITAE Adinda Sinnaeve is currently working in the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission. She holds a law degree from the University of Ghent (Belgium), an LL.M degree and a PhD degree from the University of Tübingen (Germany). Her PhD thesis dealt with conflicts between EC law and national law arising from the recovery of unlawful state aid. From November 1995 till December 1996, she worked as a research assistant at the European Institute of the University of Ghent. In January 1997 she joined the European Commission and worked for five years in the State Aid policy unit, within DG Competition. In 2002 she moved to DG Trade, where she dealt in particular with anti-dumping and anti-subsidy policy, including WTO work in these areas. In 2007 she returned to DG Competition as Deputy Head of the unit in charge of State Aid control in the sector of financial services. Since March 2009 she is Deputy Head of the State Aid Policy unit in DG Competition. She dealt in particular with the State aid rules for Services of General Economic Interest, the de minimis Regulation, and the General Block Exemption Regulation. Adinda Sinnaeve is the author of many articles on EU State aid control (see e.g. the chapter on State aid procedures in: Heidenhain, European State Aid Law – Handbook, 2010). She is also a member of the Editorial Board of “European State Aid Law Quarterly”.
