BEFORE the TEST AFTER the Test FAQ’s Decide the route you want to take: You have passed all four sections of the GED exam and the United States Constitution Test-Now what? Q– What does the GED stand for and what is it? 1. Enroll in a FREE 8-week prep class and qualify to earn the GED practice test and GED for FREE! 2. Register for the GED Exam at ged.com and take the test without the prep course. You are responsible for the cost. ($30/section x4 sections=$120 total) ($6/optional practice test.) The GED Exam is made up of 4 test subjects: Reasoning Through Language Arts Science A score of 145 is required to pass each section of the test. Do you want to take classes at WVC? A– The test costs $120 ($30/section) Each practice test is $6 and is optional to take. If you maintain good attendance in your GED class, pass the practice test and have your teacher’s recommendation, you may be eligible to take the GED test for FREE! *Apply for Financial Aid at fafsa.gov *Schedule an appointment with an advisor. 618.262.8641 Get started-Create an account at ged.com. Here you can: A-No, but it is highly recommended, especially if you have been out of school for awhile. It also depends on the last year of high school you completed. The GED test covers all four years of high school. Q– How much does the test cost? *Schedule an ACCUPLACER test in the Learning Skills Center. 618.263.5126 Social Studies Q-Do I have to take the GED class before I can take the test? CELEBRATE!! *Apply online at iecc.edu—“Admissions.” Mathematical Reasoning -Get study materials, schedule your test, see your scores once you’ve taken the test, access helpful tips for testing day, etc. Complete and return a GED Transcript/ Duplicate Certificate Request form. This form is in the Learning Skills Center or online at: www.roe20.org/service/ged Cost=$6/Official Transcript and $12 for an Official Certificate. A-GED stands for General Education Development, and it is a series of tests which can be taken by adults 17 and older who have not completed high school. Q– What times are the classes offered? A– WVC offers classes in the morning and in the evenings twice a semester. The classes are 8-weeks long. The morning classes are held from 8:00amnoon and the evening classes are held from 5:009:00pm. Both class times are on Tuesday and Thursday.
