the principles of design and your understanding of the process and the history behind
it. Through conceptual and commercial elements you will discover and create the
essence of the figure, a natural element installation, a logo or label, a musically-inspired
handmade book of your drawings, etc. The history of art, architecture, industrial design,
fashion, music, and theater will be discussed. Videos and critiques will be a very important
part of this program.

same pose for six weeks. You will learn to make colors vibrate in order to vitalize your
work. You will be guided through the anatomy, proportion, composition, and tonal qualities
needed for your painting. Interactive critiques allow you to examine your own work and
the work of others and talk about the influences of artists through the ages.
painting the still life. Learning about luminosity, transparencies, volume, depth and
composition while painting a still life is exciting and extremely rewarding. Individually,
you will choose your own still life and learn about color and light. Critiques and art history
will be part of this program.
sculpture. The nude model will take the same pose for six weeks; you have the choice
to create a figurative sculpture or a portrait in clay. Anatomical structure, proportion,
and capturing the essence of the model will be taught individually. Critiques will help
