WHO INITIATED THE IDEA BEHIND THE
NETWORKED BUSINESS INITIATIVE?
A consortium of researchers, practitioners, associations
and far-sighted sponsors.
The Networked Business Institute is an independent organization
established to operate the Networked Business Initiative (NBI).
Funding and objectives for the NBI were provided in 2013 by the
Networked Business Intelligence Research Consortium (NBIRC). The
NBI is built on a volunteer project and organization (SocialSemantic.
eu), which successfully piloted the idea behind the NBI in Denmark
from 2011-2013.

As it has been the case in Denmark, the NBIRC intends to establish
strong autonomous local alliances between industry, academia and
government institutions within each of the countries in which the NBI
is launched.
