ANDOVER – Fred Grover, 86, died Thursday [ December 17, 1964] at his residence in Andover.
He was born March 29, 1877 at Andover, the son of Asa and Etta Cutting Grover. He was a farmer and had
been retired for several years. His wife was the late Bertha Howe.
Cousins survive him.
DIED – At Andover, Dec. 17 [1964], Mr. Fred Grover, aged 76. Services at 10:30 A. M. Friday at Meader &

The death of Miss Angie E. Grover occurred September 12 [1939] at the Rumford Community hospital
where she had been a patient most of the time since November 17, 1938.
She was born in Andover November 1, 1878, and spent most of her early life there.
She leaves two brothers, Scott and Fred, who are engaged in lumbering. She was the only daughter of Asa
and Henrietta Cutting Grover.
For the past 18 years she had been at the home of Mrs. R. B. Stratton, Rumford Center. She was a member
of the Rumford Center Methodist Church, and was a faithful member of the Mishemokwa Temple, No. 43,
Pythian Sisters, Hanover.
She was active in social and lodge affairs and will be much missed throughout the neighboring communities.
Funeral services will be held at the Rumford Center Methodist Church Friday at 2 p. m. and burial will be in
the family lot in Andover.

FORMER ANDOVER MAN DIES FROM INJURIES SUSTAINED IN ACCIDENT
NORWAY – Jesse A. Glover, 75, died Thursday [ December 21, 1961] at the CMG Hospital, Lewiston from
injuries suffered in an accident at Monmouth Sunday night. The incident occurred on Route 202 when a large
moose leaped from the side of the road and smashed through the windshield of the car in which Glover was a
passenger.
Born Aug. 21, 1886 at Mexico, he was the son of Lucius and Isabelle Farrar. Formerly of Andover, he resided in
this town the past eight years. He was a retired shoe shop employee. Mr. Glover was a past chancellor of Cabot
Lodge, K. of P., and Andover. He was the widower of Winnifred Learned Glover.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Homer Aldrich, this town, Mrs. George Ladd, East Andover, Mrs. Gerald
Salisbury, Belfast, Mrs. Ray Littlehale, Andover, two sons, Harold and Sylvanus, both of East Andover; a sister,
Mrs. Etta Perkins, Andover; a brother, Elmer of Florida; 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren

Harold E. Glover, 90, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004 at his home on the East Andover Road, East
Andover.
He was born in Andover on July 26, 1914, a son of Jessie and Winnifred (Leonard) Glover, and graduated
from the East Andover High School Class of 1932.
Harold served with the U.S. Air Force for over 25 years, including during WWII and Korea, until retirement

as a Master Sgt. in 1957. He then worked for the Maine State Liquor Store in Rumford for
over 20 years until retirement in 1980.
He was married in Rumford on June 21, 1957 to Molly K. Diggins, who survives of East Andover. Other
survivors include a brother, Sylvanus Glover and wife Harriet of East Andover; four sisters, Christine Ladd of
East Andover, Natalie Littlehale of Andover, Editha Aldrich of Norway, and Virginia Salisbury of Belfast;
and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Meader & Son Funeral Home, Rumford, with the Rev.
Jane Rich officiating.
