With 25-straight winning seasons to her credit, she has guided her athletes to 37 All-America honors, including nine while at
LSU, 15 Academic All-America honors and taken her teams to 15
NCAA Regionals.
No stranger to Oklahoma City, Girouard became just the third
coach in NCAA history to take two programs to the Women’s
College World Series after leading ULL to three WCWS appearances in the 1990s and LSU in 2001 and 2004.
While her influence has been a catalyst for the growth of the
game in the state and nationally for many years, her impact in just
five years in Baton Rouge has been no less significant. Becoming
the first coach in Southeastern Conference history to lead a team
to back-to-back tournament championships, Girouard made a
clean sweep of the three major league titles (SEC Western

LSU RANKED NO. 9 IN ALL-TIME POLL
In 11 years, the LSU softball program has gone from its inaugural season in 1997 to being ranked the ninth-best all-time program. The
Tigers are the youngest program to be ranked in the top 10, and are one of only two teams in the top 15 that did not begin competition until
after the poll began. The USA Today/NFCA All-Time Top 50 poll was compiled using the points each team received in the polls for the weekly rankings from the 1995 season to the final poll of 2005.

Senior Kristen Hobbs and juniors Killian Roessner and Shannon Stein have been selected as the team captains for the 2007 season. Hobbs
is a three-year letterwinner for the Tigers and was a member of LSU's 2004 Women's College World Series team that advanced to within
seven outs of the national championship game. After splitting time with Hobbs behind the plate in 2005, Roessner started the entire 2006
season and is a two-year letterwinner. Stein earned her first letter last season after transferring to LSU from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
In addition to the three captains, the team has selected a Leadership Committee with members from each class. These committee members, along with the captains, will give input to the coaching staff to better understand team dynamics and aide in the development of policies and procedures. The members of the Leadership Committee for 2007 include senior Leslie Klein, junior Andrea Smith, sophomore Dani
Hofer and freshman Cody Trahan.
