Important dates from the Library! The last day for seniors to check out books from the library is May 10th,
that is this coming Wednesday. Freshman, Sophomores and Juniors the date is May 17th. All books need to be
returned by May 22nd as we will start moving the Library on May 24th.
Are you looking for a job this summer? Don’t forget to check out the Jobs Board for some new postings for
summer job opportunities? The jobs board is located directly across from the Main Office.
ANY students who have outstanding parking fines or detentions will not be able to attend the 2017 Prom or Post
Prom activities. In addition, any students who have detentions or unpaid parking fines will not be allowed to
enter into the 2017-2018 Linn-Mar High School Parking Lottery.
Senior News
***Seniors: Your Graduation Cap & Gown and your final checkout papers will be distributed
THIS COMING Monday May 8 from 7:30-10:30 am in the south commons. Please PASS THE
WORD to your classmates!
***Seniors interested in signing up for Senior Volunteer Day, the sign up site is up and ready to
go! The link is http://www.nemoquiz.com/seniorvolunteers/ You may only choose ONE
placement, and you may only register yourself. Once spots fill up in sites those placements will
no longer be available.
Junior and seniors do you owe any detentions?
Any students who have outstanding detentions will NOT be able to attend the 2017 Prom & Post
Prom activities. You may serve an hour of detention before school in the 11/12 Office if you
arrive by 7:30am or report to the Learning Center after school by 3:35pm to serve an hour.
Have you lost or misplaced your lunch card? You may purchase a new lunch card for $6.00.
Pay at the cashier’s office and take receipt to the correct office.
Staff and students do you need to deposit lunch money into your lunch account? Please give
your lunch money to Mrs. Dayton, the cashier BEFORE 10:30am each morning.
The last day to purchase the current yearbook for the 2016-2017 school year is May 20,
2017. To order, you must go online at http://www.jostens.com
PROM Information
IF you have a date that is a freshman or sophomore at LM, you must sign the guest up in the 11/12 office by
Thursday May 11th.
Any freshman or sophomores attending Prom or any students wishing to view the grand march may purchase
tickets on Thursday May 11th. Each person will not be able to purchase more than 6 Grand March tickets.
PROM is Saturday May 13th, 2017. Prom will start at 8:00 PM and end at 11:30 PM. The Grand March of all
students and their dates will begin in the Auditorium at 7:30 PM.
Grand March AND Prom tickets will be on sale in the South Commons from 7:35 AM – 8:25 AM from Monday
May 8th, through Thursday May 11th. Prom tickets can be purchased by Seniors ONLY on Monday/Tuesday
May 8th/9th. Juniors will be able to buy tickets on Wednesday/Thursday May 10th/11th. Advanced PROM
ticket prices are $15.00 per person or $30.00 per couple. Tickets may also be purchased at the door the
night of Prom for $20.00 per person and $35.00 per couple. Due to the limited number of seats in the
Auditorium, reserved tickets for seating will be used. Grand March tickets are $3.00 each. A student MUST
purchase tickets for Prom in order to be able to purchase Grand March tickets. Reserved Auditorium
Grand March seats will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis, starting with Seniors ONLY on
Monday/Tuesday May 8th/9th. Juniors will have the opportunity for any remaining reserved Auditorium
Grand March tickets starting on Wednesday May 10th.
Urgent information from the LM Health Office:
All students areth required by Iowa Law to have a meningitis immunization after the age of 16 and prior to the
start of their 12 grade school year.
All current juniors must go to their physician or the health department between today and the start of school
next year to get the vaccination.
2018 Seniors WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND SCHOOL UNTIL PROOF OF THIS VACCINATION
IS PROVIDED TO THE HEALTH OFFICE. There will be NO grace/extension period granted to anyone.
Parents can provide proof of immunization to the LM Health Office by sending proof of immunization via mail,
fax, email or drop off record to health office.

Clubs
Hungry for a snack afterschool! Something a little different than the vending machines. The culinary classes
have started Linn-Mar Bitez, an after school snack program. Students can purchase a card from Cashier and use
that card to grab a quick snack after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Cost is $5. First snack offered will be
Homemade cinnamon roll bitez.
Like helping youth? Thinking of being a teacher? Like anatomy? Need cords hours? If so, Mr. Meeker is looking
for volunteers to help at the Wilkins Elementary 5th grade pig heart dissection on Tuesday May 16th at 8:15am.

Are you interested in joining Linn-Mar Student Ambassadors? Come to the meeting Wednesday May 17th at 8am
in the Lecture Hall. If you are unable to attend of have questions, please see Mr. Martin in the 9/10 office.
*SODA has Adventureland tickets available for Linn-Mar High School students at a discount. The cost is $22,
twenty dollars off the original cost. They are good for any day through June 30th. If interested see Joyce
Dayton, Cashier.
* Student that applied for the TRY program, the new members are posted on Mr. McCauley's office door.
The annual SODA Co-Ed Sand Volleyball Tournament is Friday, May 12th at 6:45pm at Volley's. See Mr.
McCauley for team entry forms.

Seniors: Just a reminder that all transcript requests to colleges and teacher recommendation letters are done
through Family Connection. If you need help with this process stop in the College/Career Center or see your
School Counselor.
Parking 2016-17
Parking Lot Reminder! Students are not allowed to park in the visitor or staff parking areas
during school hours. This is a parking violation and you will receive a parking fine of $25.00.
Park in your designated lot with your parking tag displayed to avoid being ticketed.
Students who drive their moped to school need to park on the designated area in the South Lot. Please
register your moped before driving it on campus.
Students who have the privilege of parking on campus please remember to follow the Linn-Mar parking
guidelines to avoid getting a parking fine:

Park in your designated parking lot.
Always have your parking tag displayed in your vehicle.
Register any car you drive on campus to the 11th/12th office. •
Parking tags are not transferable.
Do NOT parking in staff, visitors or handicap areas.
Parking fines costs $25.00 and must be paid within 14 days.
Receiving 3 parking fines will result in the loss of your parking tag for the school year. •
Students are NOT allowed to park at Excelsior Middle School.
Students are NOT allowed to park in the apartment lots across the street.
Students parking on the street, please do not block driveways or fire hydrants or you will get ticketed by
the Marion Police.
The East Lot is for South Lot overflow parking only.
Sophomores with blue tags should NOT park in the East Lot.
Please make sure you are parking in the Stadium East/Aquatic area.
