Pat’s Spooky Silverware Holders© For One Ghost & One Jack-O-Lantern you will need: 2 squares orange felt 1 square black felt 1 square green felt 2 squares white felt 1/8 yard Steam-A-Seam Matching Thread Note: If you are making a set of multiple ghosts and/or jack-o-lanterns, purchase felt yardage (white & orange) for the bodies rather than squares. Instructions: Cut two ghost bodies out of white felt and two jack-o-lantern bodies out of orange felt. Cut one stem from green felt and all face pieces from black felt. Hint from Pat: I press some Steam-a-Seam on a 4 x 4 inch piece of black felt, trace my pieces on the Steam-a-Seam and then cut them out. Position the stem and face pieces on the jack-o-lantern and the face pieces on the ghost. Press to fuse the pieces according to the Steam-a-Seam instructions. At this point, you can use a variety of stitches to stiich around the face pieces, either by machine or by hand. Pat used a small applique stitch, but a zigzag would work, too. When you are done stitching around your fused pieces, stitch the front ghost to the back ghost (wrong sides together) and repeat for the jack-o-lantern. Your silverware holders are now ready to impart a chilling effect on your next Halloween gathering! These make cute candy or snack holders, too!
