Issue #34 LINES FROM THE LAKE JULY/AUGUST 2016 A NOTE FROM YOUR CLUB MANAGER Summer is here and Hampton Lake is busier than ever. With over 120 homes under construction or approved for construction, we continue to add more friends and neighbors. This growth affords us the opportunity to improve or add to our social functions. The club’s programing has increased immensely over the past year. We have added more family functions which include outdoor activities like organized fishing and kayaking, improved and larger kids camps, family bingo, new children’s activities during our holiday events, and much more. Adult activities have increased as well, we have had added more live entertainment, improved happy hour at the Tower Bar with draft and appetizer discounts. We have added a Wine and Design event, Bingo, Trivia, and a Jimmy Buffet themed Pool Party. We are looking forward to our extended, weeklong celebration in observation of Independence Day. The fun starts July 1st with kids pool games and BWB’s Happy Hour. Saturday features live music at the Tower Bar. Monday we have a DJ, cookout, Jack Frost ice cream, Patriotic Trivia and more. Friday, July 8th is the much anticipated HL Boat Flotilla and Concert on the Dock. FITNESS CENTRAL THE SPA Join our new Yoga instructor, Gary, on Saturdays when he introduces the next big thing: Ying/Yang Yoga, a class that balances the newly developed Yin yoga practice for the first half of the class with traditional Yang yoga practices for the second half of the class. This class can provide you with a practice that starts with deep, introspective, and quiet yoga that evolves into an energizing and uplifting yoga that sets you on your way for the rest of your day. Contact Fitness Central at 843.836.7470 for more details. The Spa is offering Sweet Summertime Specials! FISHNETS TENNIS TIP Don’t Go For the Ace: One of the most common errors in club tennis is going for too much on the first serve. If you are always trying to force your first serve, even if you have lots of power, you’ll be put in a situation of always having to hit your second serve. This gives the advantage to your opponents. Take a little pace off your first serve, maybe add some spin, and focus on placement to get your partner at net involved in the point. Good luck! -From Tennis Pro Mike O’Regan July 1st thru July 15th: 10% off any massage of an one hour or longer Come in out of the heat and enjoy our new relaxing cold stone aromatherapy massage.
