Thursday, November 10, 2016
Attention Bridge Card Club students: the first session is today from 3-4 PM in
the library. It is important that you attend if you have signed up for this
group.
Currently tryouts are going on for the Berea-Midpark Titans Bowling
Teams. Become part of Titan Pride by trying out this coming Friday at
Brookgate Lanes. There is a bus for tryouts going to Brookgate. Interested
in earning a Varsity Letter? Looking for something fun to do in the Winter
Season? Tryout for the bowling team. We need more girls to come to
tryouts and become part of the Varsity team. Bowling is opened to all 9th,
10th, 11th and 12th grade Boys and Girls.
Contact Mrs. Sharon Zeszotek 216-210-9185.
Sign Club will meet today from 2:50-3:30 in the library seminar room. Hope
to see you there.
To accommodate the Polaris Field Trips for 8th graders (see below), on those
2 days we will run an altered bell schedule. For the ENTIRE building. As a
result:
Mods 6/7 will occur between 10:40 - 11:40am
Mods 4/5 will occur between 11:44 am - 12:44pm
** The bells will ring at the normal time, but they will signify the altered
periods.
Attention Students: We are once again collecting cereal boxes for the Trades
of Hope Foundation. The foundation helps needy families in third world
countries. Each cereal box donated is taken to the foundation workers who
cut them into triangle shaped strips that are sent off to needy countries.
They are then rolled into beads and turned into jewelry. For each piece of
jewelry sold, a needy family will receive money to help provide for
themselves. You can place your donated cereal boxes in the box provided in
the main office. Please donate, it does make a difference!
The following poem was written by
Dennis Edward O'Brien. Please consider the words as you think about the
veterans of the United States Armed forces.
It is the Soldier,
not the reporter, who has given us freedom of press.
It is the Soldier,
not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the Soldier,
not the campus organizer, who gives us freedom to demonstrate.
It is the Soldier
who salutes the flag,
who serves beneath the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag,
who allows the protester to burn the flag.
Veteran's Day is tomorrow November 11th. Please keep in mind those who have
served our country or are presently serving making this the greatest country in
the world.
The MHJH Drama Club's performance of the comedy-farce Afraid of the Dark
will be Friday and Saturday night at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium. Tickets are
available at the door, $3 for students and $5 for adults.
Congratulations to the 8th grade girls orange team on their win last night as
they opened the season against the North Ridgeville Rangers. The Lady
Titans came out of the gates and rolled over the Rangers 49-14! Total team
effort great job girls. The orange teams will be in action again tonight here at
the junior high beginning at 4:30. Come out and support your Titans!
Congratulations to the seven students who competed in this past Saturday's
young Astronaut day at NASA. Eighth graders Mitchell Windahl and Jacob
Hoessle took first place in their competition for a virtual rocket launch.
Engineers worked with the teams to help in their creations. Mitchell and
Jacob had a near perfect orbital launch. Congratulations to you all for your
efforts.
