The AB Math Placement test takes about a half hour. Test will be offered on Saturday also. -Students who have not provided the college with ACT/SAT scores should consider taking the Placement Test -Any student may take the Math Placement test to try and place at a higher level of math. 11:00 am English Placement Test – WB 207 -A student whose ACT or SAT scores placed him/her into ENGL-018, Language Skills has the opportunity to challenge the placement by taking the Language Placement Test. The test takes about an hour. Test will be offered on Saturday also. -Students who have not provided the college with ACT/SAT scores should consider taking the Placement Test -Additionally a student whose SAT English was 550-600 or ACT Verbal was 25-28 may take the placement test to attempt to by-pass the first composition course, ENGL-190, Freshman Composition. 11:00 am-1:00 pm *1:00 pm-1:30 pm Family Cookout Dinner – Quad Tent (Rain – Dining Hall) Class of 2020 Introduction Ceremony – Coliseum (For all New Students and Families) First Formal Academic service for the Incoming Class. Participate in this service as we ceremonially move students from Admissions to Academic Affairs as they begin their college journey. At this time parents will depart from campus to allow students to CONNECT with other students. *1:30pm- 2:30 pm CONNECT to other students – Orientation Leaders with Orientation Teams 1:30pm-2:30pm CONNECT to other Parents – Holding On While Letting Go Presentation – Meyers Students will be divided up by Orientation Groups. Group numbers will be assigned at check-in. Parents will attend a 30 minute presentation discussing their students transition to college and how, as parents, they can still be helpful while allowing their student to grow/develop. After presentation Parents attend a fellowship in Burbick with light refreshments *2:30 am- 4:30pm Battler Fair – Quad under Tent An opportunity for parents and new students to visit with local shops and businesses to learn about services that are provided within the area. Employers will be there to explain the positions and requirements.
