Project 3: How do you make rock music?

In Guided Reading we will be studying Wolf Brother by Michelle
Pover. In Literacy, we will be developing our persuasive writing
skills by preparing speeches as well as writing information
texts .
Describe the main changes in a period of history (using terms such
as: social, religious, political, technological and cultural).

Understand the concepts of continuity and change over time,
representing them, along with evidence, on a time line.

Use literacy, numeracy and computing skills to an exceptional
standard in order to communicate information about the past.

Use original ways to present information and ideas.
Our ‘It Rocks’ topic will begin with a trip to Stonehenge where
we will walk in the footsteps of your Neolithic ancestors.
This topic will be led by History and Science skills as well as
music. In curriculum time we will complete the following
projects:
Project 1: What are rocks?
Project 2: What was the Stone Age?
In PSHE we will be thinking about new beginnings.
In RE we will be learning about rites of passage.
In PE will be doing dance and developing our basketball skills.
In Computing we will focus on E-Safety and creating music using
digital technology.
Our ‘Fabulous Finish’ will be a rock festival where we perform
our compositions.



basis of their simple, physical properties.

Relate the simple physical properties of some rocks to their
formation (igneous or sedimentary).

are trapped within sedimentary rock.
