Production Exchange)
Direct Reports: Client Design Staff, Producers, Technical Directors and Production
Managers
Location: Bourne End, South Buckinghamshire
Background and job purpose:
The Prod Exchange Ltd (trading as The Production Exchange) is a bespoke
production resource and delivery company.

We extend reach and capability: helping to pitch and undertake the biggest jobs with
confidence and facilitating delivery of creative ambition at scale.
Throughout design, we collaborate and guide our clients, to deliver a fully enabled
production with integrity.
Working with creative and production teams from a brief onward, we maintain
detailed and transparent coordination throughout pre-production, onsite delivery and
post-production, keeping our clients critical path and budget on-track.
The Prod Exchange Ltd seeks to appoint a Production and Technical Design
Coordinator to manage our ongoing company development and events.
Key responsibilities/accountabilities:
The CAD Draftsman will manage and coordinate the production of all CAD drawings,
plans and models required to facilitate works for The Prod Exchange Ltd (trading as
The Production Exchange) to a first class international standard. This will include but
will not be limited to the following areas: lighting, sound, communications, AV,
pyrotechnics, power, special effects, flying, rigging, cable pathways, rehearsal
venues, physical production build, set and staging, props and all production
elements.
This is an evolving position and responsibilities may shift over time.
Responsibilities:
The CAD Draftsman will have the following responsibilities and accountabilities:
•
Work alongside and consult with our clients, as well as the TPE Technical
Directors, Technical Managers, Creative Design Team, Artistic Director and
Producers to develop and deliver CAD drawings, plans and models of all of our
events.
•
Help manage the Client Design Staff, Producers, Technical Directors and
Production Management team and related suppliers in the delivery of their duties.
Including but not limited to assembling drafting work, budgeting, scheduling,
monitoring performance, rewarding, disciplining and overall employee
engagement.
•
Responsible for overseeing drawing version control and drawing standards for
our work.
•
Ensure the design and specification of technical production elements is
coordinated and integrated with all clients and TPE team members.
•
Responsible for ensuring survey information and controlling dimensions remain
consistent throughout all drawings and specifications.
•
Ensure that all drawings are provided in accordance with the approved designs,
as directed by the either the client lead or TPE team lead.
•
Responsible for coordination between the CAD drawings supplied by the
contractors, client teams and TPE Teams.
•
Attend Meetings as required.
•
Create and adhere to risk management strategies in relation to the delivery of all
technical and operational elements.
•
Create and adhere to OH&S strategies in relation to the delivery of production
elements and ensure staff and contractors are aware and abide by OH&S
requirements.
•
Comply and respond to all TPE procedural, administrational, and operational
guidelines and instructions.
•
Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation.

Person specification:
Key knowledge, experience and qualifications required:
•
Background in live events, film, TV, theatre, media or similar industry
•
Extensive relevant CAD experience required
•
Previous experience as a CAD Draftsman working on large-scale events,
within the above industries
•
Previous experience in preparing CAD drawings, plans and models for an
RFP or Tender process
•
Understanding and demonstrable experience of technical design
development process for large-scale events.
•
Thorough understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes relating
to staging and scenic production elements.
•
Understanding and direct experience of lighting, sound, video and rigging
systems used in the event business.
•
Experience using AutoCAD R2010 or higher in both 2d and 3d visualisation
including rendering and solid models to an advanced level.

Job information:
Salary:
25K – 30K Dependent on experience + Bonus scheme – reviewable year on year
with growth plan
Term of appointment:
6 months Full Time, with potential to extend
