DRUMLINE/FRONTENSEMBLEAUDITIONSFORTHE2017SEASON
YouareinvitedtoattendDrumLine/FrontEnsembleauditionsforthe2017
WesternKentuckyUniversityBigRedMarchingBand.MembersoftheBigRed
MarchingBandDrumLineandFrontEnsemblehavetheopportunitytoperformin
frontoflargeenthusiasticcrowdsandmakelifelongfriendsallwhileperformingin
atop-notchorganization.Inaddition,everymemberintheBigRedMarchingBand
canearnastipendof$600forparticipatinginthemarchingband.Audition
informationincludes:

Equipment: Batteryinstrumentsandkeyboardswillbeprovided.Studentsare
encouragedtobringtheirownsticksandmallets.
Auditions: ProspectiveDrumLinememberswillberequiredtoperformALLof
thelinewarm-ups(seeenclosed)andshouldbeabletoplaythrough
thebracketedsectionsofthetwocadencesattheendofthewarm-ups
(G-11andMacAttack).G-11andMacAttackwithbothbeplayedin
theirentiretyduringthecourseoftheday,butstudentswillonlybe
askedtoperformthebracketedsectionsfortheirindividualaudition.
Studentsinterestedinperformingwiththefrontensembleshouldbe
preparedtoplayanymajorscaleaswellastheenclosedkeyboard
etude.Individualswillbeevaluatedthroughoutthedayonanumber
ofdifferentinstrumentstofindthebestfitforthestudentandline.It
wouldbeagreatideatolookatmorethanjustoneinstrumentfor
yourauditionsowecaneasilymovepeoplearoundandseehow
everyoneplaysonvariousinstruments.Prospectivememberswhoare
