cities, districts, settlements and developed more than 3000 general city layouts and territorial schemes. It provides unique

Traditionally the Institute specialized on integrated design of large-scale infrastructure projects providing solutions how to
organize main transport and energetic nets and on creation of new cities as well as complicated local projects, for example:
multimodal hubs (rail-way station, seaport, airport), special projects, research work and scientific examination.

In 2009 JSC Giprogor developed the documents
of territorial planning of agglomeration Sochi
(3600 square km).
Main goals of the city-resort Sochi development
are:
• turn it into a modern highly efficient resort,

• solve ecological problems in an integral

ON THE ISLAND RUSSKIY (VLADIVOSTOK CITY)
Under the order of Ministry of Economic Development of Russian
Federation and Ministry of Regional Development of Russian
Federation JSC “Giprogor” during 2007-2009 was acting as the
general design engineer of Pacific Scientific and Education Complex
on the Far East of Russia with the objects for APEC Summit 2012
on the island Russkiy.
Within this complex there were developed territorial planning documents for
the peninsula Saperny of the island Russkiy of the Vladivostok urban district,
Primorski Krai.

COMPLEX OF PROTECTIVE STRUCTURES
FROM FLOOD IN SAINT-PETERSBURG
From 2001 to 2003 JSC “Giprogor” according to the decree of Gosstroy of Russia (the Russian Federation State Committee for
Construction, Architectural and Housing Policy) fulfilled the function of construction manager and developer on the construction of object
of federal significance – Complex of Protective Structures from flood in Saint-Petersburg.
Within the stated period under the Giprogor’s guidance at the main objects of the Complex of Protective Structures were corrected
the project documents and was done a significant volume of construction and mechanical installation work. One of the main tasks of JSC
“Giprogor” determined by the company’s Charter is the attraction of additional investment for construction financing.

COMPLEX DEVELOPMENT
JSC “Giprogor” is the base in the system of Gosstroy of Russia
in the issues of territorial investment development.
In terms of the concept it is supposed to organize on the
newly created coastline dike cargo port district which lets to
significantly increase the power of Big Port of Saint-Petersburg
and increase the competitive capacity of Russian ports at Baltic
Sea in general.

The main elements of Protective Complex are eleven stone-earth
dikes, two navigation passes, six culverts and highway which closes
the Ring Road of Saint-Petersburg on the West. General length of
the Protective Complex comprises 25.4 km, 22.2 km out of them

length of the tunnel – 1961 m including two opened ramp sections with the length of 386 m. Two transport corridors, 15.25 m wide and

the Ministry of Culture of Russian Federation, Ministry of Defense of Russian Federation (Spetsstroy RF), Ministry of Construction
(now Ministry of Regional Development) of Russian Federation, Ministry of Economic Development of Russian Federation and Ministry of
Healthcare of Russian Federation.
BOLSHOY THEATRE
Bolshoy Theatre (Moscow) is one the most famous theatres
of opera and ballet in the world.
New stage and auxiliary building of the theatre were built and
put into operation under the Giprogor’s guidance.
MARIINSKY THEATRE
Mariinsky Theatre (Saint-Petersburg) is one of the largest
Russian theatres of opera and ballet which has more than
200 year history.
JSC “Giprogor” was the construction manager of the project,
it ordered and accepted the design and construction works
for the reconstruction of the main building of the theatre and
international competition for the new stage construction.
OSTANKINSKAYA TV TOWER
Ostankinskaya TV Tower (Moscow) is a famous 540 m high
TV and Broadcast Tower, the highest independent building in
Europe, the fifth in the world. This colossal building has 45
floors, tens of round sights and balconies. In 2000 there was
a serious fire there after which it was necessary to repair
and reconstruct it. JSC Giprogor headed the reconstruction
works.

PROJECT OF TOURISTIC ZONES
For many regions tourism is one of the priority branches of economy. Efficient formation and functioning of tourism clusters depends on
the rational placement of tourism infrastructure especially engineering and transport infrastructure. Formation of new investment sights
for placement of tourism objects should be done in respect to the territorial peculiarities and limitations, conditions of engineering and
transport infrastructure and environmental consequences. In Russia some touristic zones have a status of special economic zones. JSC
“Giprogor” has significant experience in the design and planning of such zones and objects of tourism industry.
“GRAND SPA YUTSA”
Special economic zone of touristic and recreation type Grand Spa Yutsa (843 ha) is situated on the territory of piedmont municipal district
of Stavropolsky Krai on the 576 meter height above sea level and is a part of specially protected environmental and resort region of Russian
Federation – Caucasian Mineralnye Vody.

“NEW ANAPA”
Special economic zone of touristic and recreation type New Anapa is situated on the territory
of 882 ha on the 10-23 meter height above sea level. The building development concept was
done by the company Roland Berger Strategy Consultants GmbH (Germany) and the project
of territorial planning of New Anapa was developed by JSC Giprogor (Moscow) and approved
by the Administration of Krasnodarsky Krai.
Approximate cost of objects construction for special economic zone comprises 1.5 billion
euro, cost of external networks construction – 0.5 billion euro. Expected investment
payback time is 7 years.

Under the order of JSC “Russian Railroads” the company Giprogor
developed methodology of transport hubs design on the basis of
the best world practices, and also a Concept of modernization for
more than 50 Russian railway stations (including the Concept of
modernization of 8 Moscow railway stations with the participation
of leading international companies: ARUP (England), DB (Germany),
AREP (France) etc).
MULTIMODAL TRANSPORT HUB ON THE BASIS OF IRKUTSK RAILWAY
STATION (RUSSIA, SIBERIA), 2010
Our approach towards the transport hub design comes from the
understanding that transport hub is an integral part of the city
transport structure, its street and road network, it is the key
element of urban environment.
The project is meant to form multifunctional service center for the
city, to introduce new modern types of transport (cable railroad,
river passenger shipping), to build a set of objects attractive for
investors and thus to create new working places for people. Special
attention is paid to the preservation of historical and cultural
monuments.
As a result of railway station modernization the generally depressive
surrounding territory of the central part of Irkutsk city was turned
into a zone of active city planning with the commercial square about
200 000 square meters.
The project of transport hub on the basis of Irkutsk railway station
was certified by the International Festival Art of Building 2012.

PORT-LOGISTICS CENTER – PORT TAMAN (RUSSIA), 2011
On the coast of Azov sea there is a construction of the largest Russian dry-cargo port which will be deep-water. The project will provide the
construction of about ten terminals for cargo transshipment. The total capacity will comprise more than 100 mln tons.
It is planned to place in the port container, grain and coal terminals, complexes for transshipment of metal and other cargos. Priority cargos
are oil and oil products, liquefied petroleum gases, ammonia. The length of the railway line to the port is 6.3 km.

ARCTIC SEA PORT ON THE PENSULA YAMAL
The main appropriation of the port is the transshipment of liquefied natural gas which will be produced in the amount of 15-16 mln tons per
year at the plant in arctic small town Sabetta on the resource base of South-Tambeisk gas field.
In several years the port Sabetta should become a base for marine supplies of liquefied natural gas, oil and gas condensate from Russia to
the countries of Western Europe, North and South America and to the Asia-Pacific region.

Zabaikalsk is a city situated in several kilometers from the border between Russia and China and has a population of 11 thousand people.

In September 2010 JSC “Giprogor” together with architects of city Grozny did the project of general layout of the capital of Chechen
Republic – the largest agglomeration of the Republic which belongs to the North-Caucasian federal region.
The General layout specifies total city improvements, construction of new highways, bridges and traffic interchanges, regulation of city
rivers flow, construction of city park, Botanic garden, zoo, amusement park (like Disneyland), and restoration of forests within the city
boarders.

In Grozny more than 10 thousand private housing
estate was completely destroyed, seriously suffered
municipal housing.
General layout is meant not only to restore, but also to further develop the Chechen Republic within
the next 20-30 years.
Today in Grozny it is almost impossible to find destroyed object. Chechen Republic turned into attractive
region for investors instead of tension zone.
