J.L.Lennard has had a busy few months with exhibitions in Brisbane, Sydney and Auckland and now Fine Food in Melbourne in September. These exhibitions are a great opportunity to meet our customers and demonstrate the excellent range of equipment we offer the Food Service Industry in Australasia. The continued growth in sales has created a much bigger demand for after sales service and consequently we have expanded our Service Dept by an extra 5 technicians across 3 states and we are currently looking for new apprentices as well to ensure the future strength of our business. The articles in this Newsletter show the diversity of our company and we are very excited to present these products to you. The Frigomat GX Gelato equipment is a revolutionary new method of offering this hugely popular product with a much lower capital investment and plenty of theatre to entertain and entice the customer. Our ECO friendly ESE Original Paper Pod business is now 10 years old and producing more than 6 million pods per year. The pods offer the ability to serve a perfect cup of espresso coffee every time without the mess and barista skills. It is perfect for the low volume outlet or offices etc. Our story on The Merivale Group’s incredible transformation of The Newport, shows that with the right equipment huge volumes of great food can be served relatively easily and efficiently. Congratulations to the Taylor Company from Rockton Illinois who are celebrating their 90th Anniversary this year in September. Over 200 distributors, customers and suppliers will attend an all day function at the Taylor factory in late September to help celebrate this great milestone in the company’s history. Taylor of course is a world leader in food service solutions, specialising in soft serve ice cream machines, commercial grills and frozen beverage machines. J.L.LENNARD NEWS • WINTER 2016 ESE ORIGINAL PAPER POD The Newport & J.L.Lennard J.L.Lennard partnered with leading hospitality group Merivale and Food Service Consultants Cini Little to supply food equipment for their landmark redevelopment of The Newport. ▲ ESE Original Paper Pod ▲ J.L.Lennard would like to introduce Pod Pack Australia. Pod Pack manufactures the ESE Original Paper Pod for the Australian Coffee market. From its HACCP Approved premises in Silverwater, Pod Pack can supply a roasters own coffee blend packed into seven, ten or fourteen gram pods and seal them in a custom designed printed pouch. What Is An ESE Original Paper Pod? An ESE Original Paper Pod is a precisely measured, freshly ground serving of espresso coffee pre-tampered and sealed between pervious paper. This pod is then wrapped in an air-tight pouch sealing in the freshness. Pods come in seven, ten and fourteen gram servings. Why Are Pods So Good? The ESE Original Paper Pod allows for the service of espresso quality coffee without the requirement for a grinder or coffee beans. The ESE Original Paper Pod packaging maintains the freshness for two years at room temperature. Serving coffee from a pod does not require any Barista skills, so pubs, clubs and food service businesses can add espresso coffee to their menu with little expense required. Is any Special Equipment Required? Any professional espresso machine with a standard group head and handle can be simply modified to serve ESE Original Paper Pod coffee. A simple basket change is all that is required. The Newport, previously known as The Newport Arms is an iconic pub in Newport on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Following its’ acquisition by The Merivale Group, The Newport was relaunched in March 2016 after an extensive refurbishment and renovation project. There are a variety of food and drinks experiences available within The Newport, including “The Shack” which serves burgers, fries, salads, seafood and pressure fried chicken wings. The expansive outdoor area of The Newport can hold over 2000 people, with “The Shack” capable of serving per shift on a weekend, up to 800 burgers from the Taylor Grill and 900 kg of fries from the Henny Penny Evolution Elite Fryers. They demand fast service without compromising quality. Since the opening of the Newport and after carefully evaluating the performance of all equipment in “The Shack”, Merivale has chosen J.L.Lennard to supply similar equipment to other venues across Sydney including Coogee Pavilion, The Establishment, Felix and their soon-to-launch venue, The Queen Victoria Hotel in Enmore.
