instructive articles on the carving of country folk,
distinguished by their charm and depth of character.
Peter derives much of his inspiration for his characters
from his northern background. His work is ‘hallmarked’ by
the depth of research conducted into his subjects, as
well as his distinguished carving style. He has taught and
demonstrated in a variety of situations and is a firm
believer that, with the right combination of the three
‘Ts’ - Timber, Tools and Tuition.
Woodturning with Andy Rounthwaite
Andy was born and raised in Yorkshire and started wood
turning as occupational therapy in 1999, having been
diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. What began as a
hobby developed into a way of life. He gained his
teaching qualification (City & Guilds 7307) in 2002 and
in 2004 was accepted onto the Register of professional
Turners. He enjoys teaching and demonstrating and is
happy to chat about any and every aspect of his craft.
He has a very positive attitude in everything he does and
firmly believes that life should be lived to the full boundaries are there to be pushed. Everyone should be
encouraged to develop his or her own creativity - safely!
Chaircaning with Christine Addley
