Treasure Good Character Honoring the rules of the game Owning up to mistakes Not cheating on your work Eating the lunch you order Saying sorry Telling the truth You return something If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything. ~Mark Twain On Friday, May 29th, students, teachers, parents and families gathered to enjoy a morning of sunshine, exercise, and fun! This annual event is one that students look forward to every year. Mrs. Kent, physical education teacher and organizer of the event spends a great deal of time preparing all of the details needed for it to be successful. Selected 5th grade students arrived extra early the day of the event to help get everything up and running. The three-legged race shows off the key to Field Day …...TEAMWORK! The support of our wonderful parents was obvious at the opening ceremony as families waited patiently to watch their children enjoy the days festivities. Many parents also volunteered to run stations which was appreciated greatly by not only Mrs. Kent but the W. Townes Lea teachers as well. There is so much planning and preparation that goes into the event and though it comes and goes so quickly, it always creates a lasting impression with our students who look forward to this day each and every year! Field day not only brings excitement but it marks the milestone of another year coming to a close which means one more important thing….SUMMER IS HERE!!!! Have a Safe and Wonderful Summer!
