On Friday, May 29th,
students, teachers, parents and
families gathered to enjoy a
morning of sunshine,
exercise, and fun! This
annual event is one that
students look forward to
every year.
Mrs. Kent,
physical education teacher
and organizer of the event
spends a great deal of time
preparing all of the details
needed for it to be successful.
Selected 5th grade students
arrived extra early the day of
the event to help get everything up and running.
The three-legged race shows off the key to
Field Day …...TEAMWORK!
The support of our wonderful parents was obvious at
the opening ceremony as families waited patiently to watch
their children enjoy the days festivities. Many parents also
volunteered to run stations which was appreciated greatly
by not only Mrs. Kent but the W. Townes Lea teachers as
well. There is so much planning and preparation that goes
into the event and though it comes and goes so quickly, it
always creates a lasting impression with our students who
look forward to this day each and every year! Field day not
only brings excitement but it marks the milestone of
another year coming to a close which means one more
important thing….SUMMER
IS HERE!!!!
Have a Safe and Wonderful Summer!

Our PTA SOL Kick –Off Pep Rally & Nacho Party was held April 20th!! Each grade level
presented a cheer or performance to encourage our students to do their best on the test! A
special thank you to our very own W. Townes Lea Parent Pep squad for performing cheers
for the crowd!
From the Principal's Desk:
Panther Family, I would like to personally thank you for contributing to another successful year! The year would not have been as successful without your continuous support. The past two years here at W. Townes Lea have been incredible! I could not imagine a more supportive family! Thanks for all you do and I look forward to an even better 2010-2011 school year!
