Our masses are premium quality stainless steel, highly polished
and non magnetic. We offer one accuracy class, O.I.M.L Class
F2.
There are hundreds of different styles and
accuracy classes available for stainless steel
masses but we have done our homework and
come up with a range that is priced right and
covers 99% of the market needs. This standard is
suitable for calibration of both analytical balances (Class II) and trade scales (Class III). Of course we
can issue our own certificates, NATA or REG 13 depending on your application.
We sell loose weights in six sizes from 100g to 5kg. The best value is represented by our two boxed sets
that allows calibrations from 1mg – 210g (set 1) or 1mg – 6.1kg (set 2) respectively.
If you require a unique weight, an unusual shape or tolerance we will be happy to assist.

All AWE masses are manufactured to O.I.M.L M1 tolerances which means they are suitable for the
calibration & testing of “Trade Use” weighing systems.
This range of Cast Iron weights has been around for over 100 years and still remains our best selling
product. We manufacture five Hexagonal weights from 100g to 2kg and Grip Handle Weights in 5, 10 &
20kg capacities.
Application of these masses is varied and in the past we have supplied masses for elevator testing,
holding down stage props & marquees, testing boat buoyancy and of course testing scales. We also
have a range of masses and frames for hire. If you require a unique weight, a frame to hold weights or
assistance in dead loading some equipment we will be happy to help.

Large Cast Iron Masses
After 30 years of manufacturing and using large
capacity Test Masses, we believe we have refined
our products to offer the most cost effective and
efficient design in the business. The AWE Group have
a range of Cast Iron Test Masses from 250 kgs to 2000
kgs.
Our masses are manufactured to O.I.M.L. specifications and
targeted at Class III accuracy applications. The Test Masses can
be issued with our own traceable certiicate of calibration, regulation
13 certificates for trade work or NATA certificates of accuracy. We have an
in-house service for the design of custom weights and frames. This includes
experience with mass systems for weighbridges, railways, weight transport, crane
systems and weigh hopper applications.

Test Masses
Looking to test a crane, dead load an elevator or just hire some trade certified weights then we have
a solution for you. We have the largest range of hire weights and support hardware in the southern
hemisphere. We have access to 240 Tonne of 1 Tonne certified masses covered by REG 13 certificates
and an additional 5 tonne of 20 kg hand grip trade test masses.
Also available for hire are a large range of slings, chains and shackles for lifting our cast iron masses. We
have a straight lift frame which may be loaded with up to 80 Tonne of mass and a standard gauge rail
trolley which will carry 74 tonne. If you require certification, then the AWE Group can support your hire
with NATA certificates at an extra cost.
If you have a special requirement let us design a custom lifting frame to meet your needs. Our engineers
can design frames to the structural steel codes AS4100.
Transport solutions include a door to door service using our purpose built test trucks. These rigs have
hiab and forklift capability.
