“Hi,” to the staff at Big Sand Lake Lodge, especially Blair Thomas. This was the best fishing I have ever had in Canada, and I have been all over
Quebec, Ontario, NWT, and Saskatchewan. The walleye fishing was exceptional, and the numbers of walleye were simply amazing. The lodge
itself was beautiful and the best I’ve ever seen. The staff was very attentive. Thanks to Marcel for suggesting the appropriate jigs and tails,
and to Blair for the herring rig. Without them and their suggestions, I would not have been able to catch my five trophy lakers. And without
the excellent guide service of Blair, I would not have caught the 46.5-inch lake trout.
I would recommend your lodge to anyone for fantastic walleye fishing. I saw huge northern pike but didn’t have any luck with them. The
potential is there, though. Thanks to Blair for above-and-beyond service of picking me up at the lodge and taking me to the boat. Much
appreciated!

Dear Rick,
I recently had the pleasure of returning to fish Chipewyan Lake
having fished it last about 14 years ago. The fish we caught then and
released have apparently grown up. There were 8 of us, and nearly
all caught or at least hooked up fish in the Master Angler class and
saw others larger than the 45-inch ones we caught. The large pike
we caught were as heavy as any we have caught at other lakes over
the last 30 years we have been making these trips. Thank you to Sully
our camp manager, and Margie, our cook, who could have not done
more to make our trip enjoyable. As for the walleye fishing, I can only
say this—two fishermen, 1 hour and 45 minutes, 101 fish—Priceless!!!

Thanks for my most amazing Canada trip yet. This was
my first experience bear hunting with a bow, and it
couldn’t have worked out any better. The guides had me
in a great stand overlooking the lake, and I was content
just enjoying the wilderness. I was in the stand for only
an hour before a big brown phase bear presented me a
shot. Even though it was the first night, I wasn’t going to
let him walk. Soon after I made the shot, an even bigger
bear came in. Maybe next year! The rest of the trip was
just as memorable as I chased monster pike and enjoyed
the amazing views. Big Sand is truly an incredible place.

Payment Policy
How to Reach Us
A $500.00 deposit is required to confirm your dates at the
time of booking. The balance is due April 1. Or, choose our
NEW easy early payment plan, call for details. Overnight stays
in Winnipeg, MB are the guests’ responsibility, and we would
be pleased to recommend and assist with hotel reservations.
Plan to arrive in Winnipeg the evening before your
departure to Big Sand Lake Lodge. Our representative will
meet you at the Winnipeg International Airport and drive
you to your overnight accommodations. If you are driving to
Winnipeg, we ask that you telephone us upon your arrival.
Payment Policy Statement
Our representative will escort you the next morning to
the charter flight bound for Big Sand Lake Lodge. On your
return to Winnipeg, our representative will greet your flight
and assist you. Your flight connections from Winnipeg to
your home should be booked after 4:00 p.m.
Responsibility: Big Sand Lake Lodge makes every effort to
serve our guests, but will assume no responsibility or liability
for any hazard of any kind associated with these trips. Neither
is any obligation nor responsibility assumed for any political,
meteorological, climactic, or other event, or the services of
transportation companies, contractors, or other principals for
which Big Sand Lake Lodge acts as agents.
Cancellation Policy: For cancellations received prior to April 1,
the trip will be credited to the following year. Cancellations
received after April 1 will not be credited nor refunded.
** In the event that late ice-out occurs, you assume all the
responsibility and costs to reschedule your trip for an alternate date
later in the season. Subject to our availability. No refunds.
Payments & Deposits: are not refundable. Trip Cancellation
Insurance is recommended (optional). We accept cash
and check. Visa and MasterCard accepted, service charge
may apply.
