TERMS and CONDITIONS
1.
Bar & Liquor Service. The bartender and/or security guards reserve the right to ask for picture identification. Without ID, no liquor will be
served to anyone who appears to be under 21 years old. If any person under 21 is found with liquor he/she will be escorted out and will
not be allowed to re-enter the premises. There are no exceptions to this policy.
2.
Function Time Extension. If the Client desires to extend the event, the charge for each extra hour of hall only time will be $200.00, if
Lago Banquets agrees to this request. This payment shall be provided on a cash-only basis. The band and/or DJ will not be allowed to
play beyond 1:00am and the bar will be closed no later than one hour before ending of the function.
3.
Liability. Lago Banquets & Rio Banquets shall not assume responsibility for damages, lost merchandise, or equipment brought into the
banquet hall. Security arrangements are to be made through banquet hall management.
4.
Displays and Decorations. The banquet hall will be open for the client’s decorating, band set-up (between 1 and 4) hours before the
beginning of the event. The Client assumes responsibility for any damages to any property rented to client that may be caused by clients,
members, guests, employees, coordinators, independent contractor, invitees, and/or other agents. The banquet hall will not permit the
affixing of anything on the walls, floors, ceilings or rooms or items of furniture, with nails, staples, tape or any other article, unless approval
in writing is given the Lago Banquets & Rio Banquets management. In the event this is done without authorization, and damage is
suffered, the cost of repairs shall be billed to the client.
5.
Capacity. The maximum amount of people, (Including children), at any given event should be no more than ________.
6.
Practice / Rehearsal. We allow only one practice for any event. The client must call ahead of time to schedule a date and time. We do
not allow children during the practice. If any food is brought in, the client is responsible for cleaning it up.
7.
Payments and Retainer Fee. Billing arrangements for all events must be made in accordance with catering policies. There is a $200
down payment fee on all events, unless prior arrangements have been made. We accept cash, checks, credit cards, and money orders.
Checks should be made out to Lago Banquets.
8.
Guarantees. Lago Banquets & Rio Banquets must be notified of the exact number for which you wish to guarantee services for not later
than eight (8) working days before the event. In the event a guarantee service number is not received, the original estimated attendance
count will be prepared and charged. The charge for each additional person set up at client's request will be made and client agrees to pay
at Caterer's established rate.
9.
External. No alcoholic drinks or any kind of food is allowed outside the banquet hall / catering location.
10. Confetti and Rice. No confetti, rice or any other granulated items are allowed in the banquet hall / catering location. An additional fee will
be charged for clean-up if the client uses these items.
11. Taxes. All applicable state and local taxes will be imposed and paid by the client. If the client's organization is tax exempt, the caterer
must receive a certificate reflecting the client's exemption status not later than five working days before the event. If the caterer does not
receive this certificate, the client agrees to pay all taxes associated with the event.
12. Smoking. No smoking is allowed inside the banquet hall.
13. Cancellations. If the client cancels a contracted food and beverage event, and/or facility, the caterer can retain all or a portion of the
retainer fee and any other payments made as liquidated damages.
14. Leftover Food. Per Illinois Department of Health policy we will not release leftover food to you or your guests.
15. Balance Due. Any balance due will be paid in cash, money order or check within seven (7) days of the start time of function.
16. Delinquent Accounts. We reserve the right to assess finance charges on any amount unpaid when due at an interest rate of 1 ½% per
month or the maximum rate permitted by law.
17. Attorney Fees. In the event that the caterer must seek legal remedies to complete execution of this contract, the client agrees to pay all
reasonable attorney fees.
18. Outside Food. When the client wants to supply any food to be brought on the premises, client must secure written approval and
endorsement of Caterer before such food will be allowed on the premises.
19. Substitutes. Caterer reserves the right to substitute items that become unavailable in the open market or that exceeds reasonable
market costs. Caterer will notify client for approval if time allows.
20. Music. Caterer reserves the right to regulate the volume of music played during the function.
21. Venue. The laws of the State of Illinois, Cook County shall govern this agreement.
22. Force Majeure. Neither party shall be liable in damages or have the right to terminate this Agreement for any delay or default in
performing hereunder if such delay or default is caused by conditions beyond its control including, but not limited to Acts of God,
Government restrictions (including the denial or cancellation of any export or other necessary license), wars, insurrections and/or any
other cause beyond the reasonable control of the party whose performance is affected.
