I. The Big Three Peace Process

Atlantic charter –1941- GB and US met to
make plans for peace and restoring order once
the war ends
Yalta conference Feb 1945 –
1. discuss plans for Germany after the war;
2. Russia refused to give up Poland but
promised to allow free election in Poland
3. Stalin agreed to the establishment of UN
4. Stalin agreed to send troops to Asia to fight
Japan after Germany surrenders
5. War criminals responsible for
concentration camp will be punished
6. nations liberated from Germany control
will be allowed to hold free election

III. Post World War II order
