Happy Holidays! Ladies, we invite you to mark the 23 on your January calendar with a big red
circle. Yes, we think the 23rd is going to be the start of a memorable, important, happy
occasion. We want you to be a part of this noteworthy day at Camp Tecumseh. It’s the perfect
opportunity to tell a story with fabric; design and create a quilt for your special day, or make
one for a relative/ neighbor/ best friend who will soon be celebrating a day of significance! We
have selected three terrific patterns that will help you spell your love and appreciation with
fabric. Come spend a weekend doing what you love-*quilting*…. while you think about those
you want to celebrate.
What a treat! Three magnificent winter days of uninterrupted “me-time” to recharge your
batteries and play with words and fabric. We are excited to announce that Team Bits ‘N Pieces
is the genius in the letter department. Their wonderful store, filled with all kinds of beautiful
fabric, creative people, and ideas is located in Crown Point, IN. The girls have been inspired by
their recent trip to Quilt Market and have several quilt patterns they are eager to share with
you. Check them out, choose your favorites, and start packing your bags.

1. SEVEN LETTERS QUILT PATTERN by Miss Rosie’s Quilt Company is a striking, strip pieced quilt
made with fat quarters, fat eighths or 2” strips. Do you have a new bundle of fat quarters
you want to show off? You will need assorted background and light prints, assorted
medium and dark prints, and an accent print. The reproduction quilt was made using
mostly Jo Morton fabrics and the cheery version was made using assorted Bonnie and
Camille fabrics. Seven rows of seven squares, makes you think of crossword puzzles, which
makes you think of 7 letter words… a ha! Learning seven letter scrabble words is always fun
because of the 50 bonus points you get when you play one. How about taeniae- headband
worn in ancient Greece. You can be sure we will be playing with seven letter words at
camp, and you will probably see a couple scrabble boards! Dare we say this quilt is
amazing, elegant, quality, vibrant, or that it creates elation when you see it? Bits N Pieces
has offered two kit options. Finished size measures 74” x 74”.
2. WORDS TO LIVE BY by Simply Put Plus patterns…creating inspiration one stitch at a time. This
simple scrappy quilt features a large running stitch around the nine patches. Jan was able
to meet the owner of this pattern company, and had a great time getting to know her
story. The plan is to embroider or write with pigma pens randomly around the blocks and
there are lists of words provided that you can use: family, compassion, faith, home, grace,
etc. Bits N Pieces has offered two kit options. Finished size measures 70” x 90”.
3. WORDS WITH WOOL – a booklet by Farmhouse Threads. These projects will feature seven letter
words of course… like inspire, quilter, friends, sisters! What a great addition to anyone’s
sewing space. How about a holiday decoration… Joy, Peace, Noel, Frosty, … or a child’s
name for his or her room? The skies the limit here. Get creative with wool, flannel, or
cotton and happy up someone’s special, Red Letter Day!
