SIS Newsletter March 2015
A few notes and reminders before wishing you a warm and restful Easter break.
Second Term
Our second trimester exams went smoothly across all key stages. Many of the changes we made to the
exam week in terms of content and scheduling were ideas and reflections that came from parents and
students and it worked out extremely well. We all noticed a calmer atmosphere and this is a reminder of
how communication between parents, students, and staff on important issues like testing are crucial for
maintaining a healthy school and productive learners.
Parent Conferences
Thank you for attending our recent parent-teacher conferences. We appreciate your commitment and that
you take time to meet with us. We hope that our conferences were able to provide you with some valuable
insight into your child’s progress in school. We take your suggestions as areas to improve and will definitely
work on them as a team.
We look forward to our continued partnership throughout the remainder of the school year.
Field Trips
Class field trips for June have also been solidified this week. Permission slips have been returned and
parents have received the information on each class´s program. As a reminder, you can expect the class
budget to be invoiced in two monthly installments, one in April and the other in May for KS1, KS2U, and
KS4 and in May and June for KS2L and KS3 together with your monthly tuition bill. Please contact teachers
if you have any questions or comments on the programs.
Easter Egg Hunt
The Easter Egg Hunt started promptly and continued until the last egg had been found. Many of the
children enthusiastically jumped from egg to egg -- just like the Easter Bunny! They carried colorful Easter
plastic eggs, which were made for this occasion. All students were asked to each find and put a limited
number of eggs in their baskets. This allowed all the students to have an equal chance to find eggs while
fostering a co-operative spirit among the children. The children were so excited. The reward for the hunt
was a real chocolate egg for everyone.

ASP News
With the weather on the change, we have been making the most of the sunshine in the ASP. Last week’s
theme of the 'Jungle Book' saw us trying out lots of jungle skills - Following trails, rescuing monkeys from
spiders’ webs, playing hungry hippos and cooking on an open fire! After that action packed week who
knows what adventures next term will bring!

Educational Excursion
As a part of an educational excursion, the IB Program, Sønderborg, has invited KS4 students on 8th April
2015. Here the students will have an opportunity to spend a day from 8:30 to 13:00 with an introduction
program.
The students will be accompanied by Mrs. Bansal and when finished the class will return to school for
normal classes.
We very much look forward to this collaboration.
We wish you all a very happy Easter.
