Dear Parents / Carers,
It seems like the weather could now be improving, I
am pleased to say, and as I am sure you are aware,
Mrs Maddison is working hard to ensure that all
children stay safe in the sun. Therefore, I ask that
you send your child in with a sun hat and a labelled
bottle of suncream. If you do not want to send in sun
cream, then please ensure that either you or your
child has applied it prior to leaving for school in the
morning.

Get Well and Welcome
Mrs Robinson has been in hospital for an operation.
She is recovering well but may not be back with us
until September.
To cover her hours, we welcome Mrs Rothwell and
Mrs Allen to the staff for the Summer term.
Mrs Stanley-Smith is our temporary SENCo, who
many of you have already met. She will work in
school on a Thursday and sometimes a Friday until
Mrs Walsh returns. I hope they will all be happy
working in school with us.
Football Match
Well done to the boys in the football team who
played Manor Beach last week. They won 2-0, which
has earned them a place in the semi-final of the Elliot
Cup.
That game is to be played at Fuse Football, near
Thornton Primary, on Monday 11th May at 3.45pm.
The boys will be playing
Stanah and it would be
wonderful to see as many
people there to support the
boys and cheer them on.

What a wonderful day yesterday was. The children
were thoroughly involved in voting for their School
Councillors. The polling stations were set up, the
ballot papers ready and the candidates had already
given their speeches to the children. There was a
buzz of anticipation as the first class began to vote!
By 3pm that day, we knew who the student
