Power Choices: Desire Map 1
This is program for clarifying what you truly want in areas of your life,
and using that powerful awareness to guide your choices. We have
the procedures of achievement upside down. Typically we come up
with our to-do lists, our bucket lists, and our strategic plans first, but
those aspirations are being driven by an innate desire to feel a certain
way. So what if we get clear on how we actually want to feel within
ourselves, and then we design our to-do lists, set our goals, and write
out our bucket lists? When you’re connected to the greater purpose
of an intention and not just proving yourself, you can pull off some
amazing feats. Required book: Desire Map, ISBN 1622032519 (not

your desires. Some people go their entire lives on an autopilot,
but you’ve just cracked a code to wide-awake living. Now, we’ll

The 2nd Amendment and You: Your Rights as
a Gun Owner and When to Stand Your Ground
Our daily news is filled with debates and speculation
about the status of the Second Amendment; much of
which can be determined by whomever is sitting in
the Oval Office. US citizens have the right to keep and
bear arms, meaning that owning and wearing a gun is
a constitutionally-protected right. However, state and
federal governments can regulate and set limits on this
right. This class, taught by The Honorable William R.
Chumley, Spartanburg County Magistrate Judge, will
cover South Carolina law and how future legislative bills
that may soon be filed in Columbia can impact your gun
rights. You will also have a crash course in constitutional
gun history and law, what is meant by the right of the
people to keep and bear arms, a history of self defense
issues, a CWP fact sheet, a history of firearms, and a
working knowledge of the mechanics of a gun. The
course will also include a discussion on how we can
expect our next President to influence the direction of
this hotly debated amendment. 8 course hours

We are being flooded with Social Media invitations and updates.
Web-based communication icons like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube,

HOME TECHNOLOGY
CEDIA (Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association) Workshops
CEDIA was founded in 1989 by a group of professionals dedicated to the advancement of the up-and-coming electronic systems
industry. CEDIA Certification is what consumers should look for when selecting a home technology professional. It but is also helps
consumers easily identify a qualified home technology professional from those who have not been properly trained or have not taken
the extra steps to validate their education and training through certification. CEDIA Professional Certification quantifies and qualifies
the level of knowledge an individual possesses and how well they have learned to apply the training to their work. CEDIA Certified
Professionals are required to maintain their certification status through continuing education. The CEIDA requirement to earn
continuing education units demonstrates that the certified professional is committed to maintaining the highest quality
standards for performance. Earn your required CEUs by attending any or all of the following CEDIA workshops. Each course is
1 course hour.
Understanding Today’s Home
Technology and Infrastructure Options
There are many available options related
to technology for today’s savvy clients,
and this Custom Electronics Design and
Installation Association (CEDIA) workshop
will help you through the myriad of choices.
You will walk away with a comprehensive
overview of current home technologies
available in today’s connected homes. The
in-depth discussion will include wired vs.
wireless, integrated systems-what they
are and how they work-and engaging a
trained electronic systems professional. This
overview will also help you plan for proper

Using Technology Systems to
Help Homeowners Live a Greener Life
A “green home” extends beyond recycling
and energy efficiency; people today
want to live a greener lifestyle. In this this
Custom Electronics Design and Installation
Association (CEDIA) workshop, you will
discuss components of “living green” and
how using technology can actually help
you live a greener life. Additionally, you
will discuss the ways control systems can
improve durability and enhance health
and comfort of a home and its occupants
through HVAC, lighting and lighting control,
automated shading, smart appliances, and
water usage. You will also discuss how a
cooperative mentality among trades in the
design and building process can help you
achieve your “green goals.”

Dedicated Theater Design
What is a home theater? This may sound
like a simple question, but is it? In this this
Custom Electronics Design and Installation
Association (CEDIA) workshop, you will
come away with a very distinct definition
of what a home theater is-and what it
isn’t! Discussions will also include basic
acoustical physics, common mistakes in
designing theaters, as well as specific design
considerations related to video, lighting,
electrical, and safety and comfort. This
workshop will provide guidance related to
what goes in the room-from equipment,
to wall treatments, to seating-and provide
practical solutions to problems associated
with home theater design and construction.
You will also learn the importance of
engaging a trained, qualified professional
early in the design and build process.
Disguise & Hide: The Art of
Hiding Technology
Home electronics should integrate
seamlessly into a home’s design and
décor. This Custom Electronics Design and
Installation Association (CEDIA) workshop
reviews the three-pronged approach to
hiding technology - advance planning,
design philosophy, and product selection
- which are available for minimizing the
visual impact of electronics without
compromising performance. Specific
challenges and recommendations related to
hiding video displays, projectors, speakers,
controls, cameras, and equipment racks among others - will be addressed. You will
learn about innovative and creative ways
to lessen the visual impact of electronics
by making them low-profile, hidden or
camouflaged, or even invisible!

Wiring Requirements to Support
Electronic Systems
Supporting the multitude of technologies
found in today’s connected homes requires
planning, specialized installation, and a solid infrastructure in place. This Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association
(CEDIA) workshop will discuss the trends
and future technologies and their impact on
today’s homes, as well as covering the basic
infrastructure requirements needed to support these technologies so they perform at
maximum capacity. At the end of this workshop, you will be able to define the components of a structured wiring system and list
the benefits that correctly installed systems
offer to meet technology needs. THere will
also be a discussion related to partnering
with a trained electronics professional in the
planning and installation of these complex
systems.
