Since 2007 the stormy shore of !Nami/us / Lüderitz serves as the location of the internationally acclaimed kite surfer speed challenge. Further flight over the table top mountains and the majestic Brandberg, famous for the rock painting known as the white lady. We reach the Ugab riverbed and fly along it as it meanders its way towards the coast. In the riverbed, keep a lookout for the desert elephants, ostrich, oryx and other game. As we near the coastline, the sand dunes form intriguing ripple patterns, which give colour, texture and a graphic quality to the dunes. We reach Cape Cross and shortly after we see the holiday town of Henties Bay, renowned for recreational fishing. Our flight continues passing Wlotskasbaken and the salt works, returning to Swakopmund. Seeing the balloon being inflated with hot air is a both enjoyable and interesting experience. You rise with the sun over the incredible landscape, slowly gaining a view of the distant blue mountains and the multi-coloured formations that are the result of geological turmoil which occurred million years ago, with some luck, you will have a bird’seye view of some rare dessert elephants.
