HQ Sqn This was chosen due to the connection with the area in which the Regiment is currently stationed, as the Earl of Derby was the commander of the 30th Division, formed from the Wiltshire and Hampshire areas during World War 1, giving a link between the crest and the local area. The Division carried out deep night infiltration to within 800m of the enemy trenches, then after attacking at dawn, captured all of its objectives within 2 hours of the attack.
