 Junior Friends of Balboa Park Advanced Scavenger Hunt A PATCH PROGRAM: Friends of Balboa Park is committed to preserving Balboa Parkʹs legacy for future generations through park‐wide projects. Friends of all ages are important to Balboa Park. Join us in a scavenger hunt as we explore all that balboa Park has to offer. Balboa Park History: 2015 marks Balboa Parkʹs 100th year as a treasured destination for both San Diegans and visitors alike! The park was originally built to host the Panama‐California Exposition of 1915 which celebrated the opening of the Panama Canal. The Park was not intended to be permanent, but San Diegans rallied to rebuild and preserve it. Nearly 100 years later, it remains one of San Diegoʹs most beloved destinations. Your Mission: Using the Balboa Park Map, follow the clues and riddles to learn even more about the park, its important building, museums, and institutions.
