“Every Child’s Place
was a slice of Heaven
for Canaan. “
~ Nikki & Joey Papa
Dear Friend of Every Child’s Place:
As we so often do when the holidays approach, we take time to reflect
on that which we have learned throughout the year. This year, we learned
many lessons from a beautiful little girl named Canaan. Watching her
develop happily and safely in our inclusive environment, despite all of her
physical, cognitive, and health challenges, strengthened our spirit. Her
smile penetrated all of our hearts as she was wheeled down the hall,
smiling and full of joy. However, now we are left with a giant hole in our
hearts, for Canaan died at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin on October
30th of medical complications.
To her devoted parents, Joey and Nikki Papa, and her four siblings, Every
Child’s Place was a haven of warmth and comfort. They were so grateful
to find a center that could meet the needs of their daughter, which allowed
them to return to work knowing that Canaan was well cared for and
happy. Canaan was a gift to us, and we were honored to be able to take
care of her special health care and feeding needs.
This year, we clearly see that a piece of Canaan’s legacy is to keep our
mission strong and be able to be that special place for other children with
special needs.
Please give generously so that we can help other families like Canaan’s.
The Papa family took on the financial challenges required to send
Canaan to Every Child’s Place in addition to all their other expenses.
Many families face similar challenges. Your gifts can help us ease their
burden by providing scholarships for students with special needs and
enabling us to properly equip the center and hire the best staff.
May peace and happiness surround you and your family throughout this
holiday season.
Sincerely,
The Board of Directors, Staff, and Children
of Every Child’s Place, Inc.
