Frequently Asked Questions General Event Information When and where is the event? Saturday, May 13th, 2017 Old Settlers Park, Round Rock (3300 E Palm Valley Blvd, Round Rock, TX 78665) How do I get there/Where do I park? Coming from the South. Take I-35 N to exit 253. Turn right onto W. Palm Valley Blvd. Turn left onto Harrell Pkwy. Free parking will be on your left, near event entrance. Please follow signs. Coming from the North. Take I-35 S to exit 254. Turn left onto W. Old Settler’s Blvd. Turn right onto Harrell Pkwy. Free parking will be on your left, near event entrance. Please follow signs. Handicap parking is available in the paved parking lot directly in front of event space, right next to activities area. What time do things start? Run for Babies® 6:30am – Check In & Registration Open 7:15am – 5K Run Program begins 7:30am – Run for Babies Start VIP Runners Tent Open (massages, fruit, water) March for Babies® 8:00am –Donation & Incentives Open 9:30am – Program begins 10:00 am – March for Babies Start Activities Open Donations and Incentives Can I drop off final donations/pick up my incentive t-shirt before event day? Donation drop off and incentives can be picked up on the day of the event at the Welcome/Check In/Registration area. Where can I turn in final donations/pick up my incentive t-shirt on walk day? Donation turn in/incentive t-shirt pick up will be at the Welcome/Check In/Registration area. What 2017 Incentives are available for pick up at the walk? Incentive T-Shirt – for participants that raise $100 or more What to expect the day of What is the route like? All runners and walkers will use the same route. The 5K route goes through Old Settlers Park. The route is paved, but we do suggest jogging strollers for families. There is a water station along the route with free water for participants. There are no restrooms along the route. What do I need to bring? Hats, sunscreen, water/beverages, folding or camping chairs to sit, tent for your team (if not ordering through March of Dimes). Money for additional donations and March for Babies merchandise. Will there be food available? Dunkin Donuts will be on site at 7:00 am providing coffee and munchkins to participants free of charge. There will also be snow cones available for purchase in the activities area. There will not be Food Trucks onsite at the event this year. Will there be an ATM available on site? No there is no ATM at the walk-site, so please plan accordingly. Donations and merchandise purchases can be made via check, cash or credit card. Frequently Asked Questions Can I bring my own tent? Yes, if you are providing your own tent, you must have informed March of Dimes staff prior to the event. Your tent must be completely set up between 9am-5pm on May 12th* or before 6:30am on May 13th. All tents must be sandbagged or secured with water barrels. We cannot stake on the property. *in case of inclement weather on the 12th, tents will be allowed to be placed at the site and set up early on the 13th. Can I bring a BBQ? Yes, if you are bringing your own BBQ, you must have informed March of Dimes staff prior to the event. The park has specific instructions about grilling that we will share with you and we will need to have the fire marshal inspect your tent site and BBQ area. You will also be responsible for having your own fire extinguisher to pass inspection. Where are the restrooms? There will be portable restrooms on the event grounds located near the family activities. Please remember there are no restrooms on the route so plan accordingly. Where should I have my team meet me? If you do not have a team tent, you can have your team meet at our general teams tent/meeting area. What Activities will be going on? We will have lots of fun, family-friendly activities set up around the event grounds. Including; a photo booth, Bounce Houses, Bean Bag Toss, FunBus for preschoolers, snow cones and Tiny Tails Petting Zoo. Sales Tent- Don’t forget to stop by the Merchandise Tent to buy March of Dimes t-shirts, flash drives, hats, water bottles, and much more. Why I Walk Tent- Make sure to stop by the Why I Walk Tent and share why you walk at March for babies. You can also make a Why I Walk bib to wear during the walk to let everyone know who you are walking for. Run for Babies Information Where can I register for Run for Babies? Visit www.runforbabies.org/austin and select the Austin run. Fee is $35 prior to event day and $40 day of. Where can I pick up my run t-shirt prior to the event? T-shirts will only be available for pick-up at the event on May 13th beginning at 6:30am during run check-in. What time can I check-in day of? Check in will open at 6:30am. T-shirt pick up will be at the Runner Check-in Tent. Do I need to sign a waiver? Yes, you must have signed the participation waiver online or the day of the event at check-in. Is there a place for me to drop off my belongings while I run? Yes, you can check your belongings at gear check the morning of the event at the runner check in. All belongings will be kept securely with March of Dimes staff and security until you pick it up after the race. What Awards are there? Awards will be given for the top male and female runner overall at the finish line.
